Exploring places I find interesting. Can't help uploading other stuff though. My priority is authenticity, not perfection. So don't expect Hollywood scenes or drone shots in 8k.
Hi Frank, your assessment of Nha Trang is spot on. I have been to Saigon, 1 month in Da Nang, 2 weeks in Hoi An an I booked a month in Nha Trang. I noticed a difference in my interactions with the locals on day 1 and now its day 5 and all I want to do is get the hell out of here. Its a town that has everything going for it except it full of Russian people and I think the locals think I am another Russian and I have been having negative experiences everyday. I cant wait to leave.
You missed the point of your visit to Subotica. It should have been a celebración of a particular Serbian characteristic - they love the OTHERNESS. Quite the opposite of political Western propaganda against the Serbs. When you go to the south of the country, antípoda of Subotica is the town of Novi Pazar, with Moslim Bosniak majority. 30% Serbs, the rest are Bosnian Muslims. How come, haven't they exterminated them? No dear buddy. Serbs are famous to not like to be alone. Only Istria in Croatia has a similar mentality. They don't mind OTHERNESS. When your mindset is EUrocentric and your spirit weak, you will attract scheisse. You will come to a huge square and go directly to a small dry plant. Seems like a German small town clerk person goes to inspect former empire (nobody pays him,he is on his down mission) and looks for cracks in chuches, run down buildings, dry plants and "exotic" letters. What is this doing here? AHA,it's only 30% Serbian .They stole it from us,the K&K Empire. What this clerk failed to discover and lean from his visit to Subotica is that out of entire former Empire, Austro-Hungarian, only Serbia, as one of it's descendants has preserved ethnic structure, similar to pre WW1, at least a legacy of it's former incredible cultural diversity. Timisoara is heavily Romanianized - there are only traces of it's former cultural and ethnic diversity. Imagine that -little Subotica is the only city in former K&K Empire that has preserved at least a honorable legacy of ethnic diversity this Empire was proud off . If you go to Hungary - same story like in Romania, it has lost the minorities, because they don't like the otherness. Serbians don't like to be alone and are historically quite fond of Hungarians (and Romanians). Unfortunaely, missing are Jews, exterminated by 3RD Reich and Horty's Hungary. Missing are ethnic Germans, expele after the fall of 3RD Reich. The clerk should stay home because his travelling is very risky of self toxication by negative thoughts. I can imagine what he thinks of immigrants from Middle East that reshape forever ethnic fabric in his own country. Hence thefrustración, I suppose.,
Thanks a lot. On my recent trip to Vietnam, the focus was more on the South. So I did not visit Hanoi and lots of other interesting places in the North. I do want to come back to this country and spend more time in the North, but that will not happen this year. For me the trip was an extremely eye opening but still pleasant experience. Really looking forward to come back.
it seems most of the Infor you are spewing out come from USA bs propaganda.. the efficient brainwashing machine ever device.. by the way.. being clean has nothing to do with Europe.. in fact most European cities are turning into American cities.. full of decay of past grandeur and crime.. people living in tent.. yadayadayada.. be care what you say.. not all netizen are stupid..
“Sitting on the beach…eating junk food…and drinking booze…”, in other words…VACATION! Sorry Frank, I’m sure you’re a nice guy…but you sound like a grumpy old man😜.
Sir I would recommend you going more up north for beautiful nature and hiking I see you went up to Da Lat , however Phong Nha or Ninh Binh are far superior in terms of nature and hiking Why you haven't taken the direct flight from Frankfurt to Saigon with Vietnam Airlines?
you look like you were in the the Japanese quarter of Saigon- very rowdy. I moved to Saigon 3 years ago... It's amazing here- couldn't see myself ling in another country. People so nice, friendly. Countryside beautiful and food amazing!! Plus it's so cheap with wonderful opportunities
The place where I start the video is not the Japanese Quarter in District 1 but the region around Pham Viet Chamh which seems to be quite hip among expats. Aside from that you are right. I am back in Europe for 4 weeks now and really miss Vietnam. But Europe has its great places too.
I had to delete all the comments of this video. This is something I never ever wanted to do. But all comments are political and seem to contain keyworts that probably are considered toxic by the RU-vid algorithm. Otherwise I can't explain why the video got 1490 views in the first 24 hours and only 4 views in the four weeks since then. Don't judge a country by its political leader. I say this in the video and said it many times before.
I did not want to judge anything. My videos represent my personal opinions based on my personal experiences. Other people might have other experiences and that's great.
@@frankexplores4794 it's good to hear!! Lot's of bloggers told ugly stories about Nha Trang in connection to safety issues. It's nice to see that it is not on every corner and it is actually safe
Right, this is my personal opinion but at least it is based on my personal impressions and experiences, not just on what I read somewhere or what somebody told me. Some people seem to like it, you don’t. Fine.
Hahaha they charge extra to sit on the throne? Hilarious. Nothing to see here. Just another country exploiting its history and heritage for tourist dollars. Typical tourist trap.
Hi fr Việt Nam to Bro!!!.Thật khó để hiểu hết những gì anh nói vì T Anh của tôi kém.Với 1 người VN luôn chào đón tất cả các bạn khắp nơi trên trái đất này k kể màu da, ngôn ngữ.Các bạn hiểu k ( People are most Important). Hãy sống bắng Hoa & ❤ .Bạn Gieo Cây Nào Bạn Sẽ Nhận Được Quả Đó.Con người trên trái đất k giống nhau Hãy sống & tôn trọng người khác bạn sẽ hưởng Niềm Vui - Hạnh Phúc
Interesting theory. That would mean the majority of RU-vid viewers are non-woke Westerners that think the West has gone insane. Not so sure. Many of my viewers are actually from the places I visit. During the past month I got lots of views and subscriptions from Vietnam and Thailand.
Hiking or walking in nature traditionally was not what Vietnamese people would do for the purpose of being with nature or relaxation. It just begins to becone more popular to younger people who tend to follow the Western life style activities like solo travel, gym, getting married later in life, having less children. There was not really a demand or need to build facility for hiking as the it is in Europe where urbanization and modernization has happened for a long time resulting in stress, lack of green patches and less time to be with nature. Therefore, the need of having somewhere green, natural in or near the city in Europe to help people have a life work balance is huge. This leads to what you have these days in developed countries. Vietnam is going that way even though it just begins. If you lived in Vietnam, you would eventually know where to go for the same thing. Local people always know where to go. Again walking in tropical weather country with high temperature and humidity is not a thing for many people. You can tell it is true by looking at how often Vietnamese people rather jumping on a push bike just to go for 20 meter down the street to buy a pack of sugar than walking there. It is very hard to compare like the saying an orange and an apple
You only been to Vietnam for 4 weeks, like any Asian tourist been to Europe, you dont know much about the country and you make any judgement either. If you like nature, mountain, rivers etc then you need a motorbike travel to different city , town like thousand of young vietnamese . but then they have family and relative, anything happen , road accident or find a place to stay overnight , it easy for them. For foreigners you need to travel with someone else to hep each other.
I certainly don't want to make any judgement. These are just my personal impressions. What you write about snakes in your other comment surely plays a role here.
I heard Turkish migrant are the most hated people in Germany. An Australian Turkish visit family in Germany and he said they are the most racist people much worst than Australian. He came to Australia in the 70s as a young man and have to carry knife when he walk on the street , can be attack anytime. But in Germany , you dont know who going to attack you include a young lady and you become a Roast Turkey for Thanksgiven day😄
There are 3 mio Turkish people in Germany. Many of them came here decades ago. Many are well integrated. They do have some political influence locally. Germany does have a lot of problems but being a Turkish colony isn’t one of them.
I don’t hate it but I do have a complicated relationship with it. But then, countries are not that important. People are. Let’s end this discussion. It is not related to my video.
Im Vietnamese living in Finland and I do understand why/how our people is like that. I think mostly because of collectivism nature of the people there (people stay close to other people & like getting services) versus individualism in Europe (do it yourself). Young people in Vietnam do like nature & go camping far away from the city, but mostly they are looking for open air environment (like grassland for example) with accessible services rather than going deep inside a forest like how we do in Finland. In my experience, the nature/forest of Finland or EU in general are pretty safe, but also kinda sterile in a way, but the jungle in Vietnam is dangerous & teeming with all kind of wildlife (monkeys, deers, birds, SNAKES, tigers etc...). So going to a jungle, you need to have certain survival knowledge, which is an important part of the Vietnamese military training actually. We do love our jungle, used to say that "the jungle provided us food, the jungle hid us from the enemies, and the jungle also fought the invaders". In Vietnam, mother nature is a force to reckon with, not just there & around.
@@frankexplores4794 yeah there was also a song made by young Vietnamese people calling on each other to go & clean the nature so it would be "as beautiful as Finland". I was surprised also & believed that it will get there someday. Come back after a few years (5-10) and you may be pleasantly surprised
@@frankexplores4794 there are lot snake, cobra, pathon in forrest, national park coffee plantation. 1 tiny bite like a needle hit your skin without any pain and you dead within 1 hour. During the vietnam war, thousand of soldier die because of snake.
You Said that in Vietnam the nature is too far from the towns. Yes, from big cities like Hanoi or Saigon, but it is not the truth when you go to smaller cities like Đà Nang, Đà Lạt, Quy Nhơn……..
Even in Da Lat, it took me a 15 km motorbike ride plus a 3 km walk along a private road to get to a place without motorized traffic. Maybe there are other options but they were not obvious to me.
If you like historical sites, I think northern VN around Hanoi offer much more for you to see. Nhatrang is a new city compared to most northern cities & Nhatrang is quite small & compact with about 400k inhabitants (not 1.3mil as you said). Danang should have more historical sites as it is the capital of central VN during the colonial time & the current time with much more inhabitants than Nhatrang.
Unlike most other tourists I did walk a lot. I lost a bit of weight, but only 1.5 kg because I also enjoyed the great Vietnamese food. Sleeping was not an issue except in my hotel in Hue that had a karaoke bar next to it.
The traffic itself is not that loud except for the honking. In Europe we have less motorbikes but more cars. And they are driving much faster. You can hear the traffic of country roads and autobahns even when you are kilometers away.
Yes, traffic is a bit noisy but it works really well. In European cities, where everything seems to be well organized, it seems to be more likely to get stuck in traffic jams.
Your vlog is the best. Deeply knowledgeable traveler to explore the local culture, architecture, economy or ways of living. Just don’t know why there’s a little view to these super vlogs ❤❤❤
Thanks. My number of subscribers actually more than doubled since I started my Vietnam vlog. My other videos are mostly about Europe and nobody seems to be interested in this continent. 😎 Sometimes I can even understand that.
It serves a different purpose than in western countries. Whenever a driver intends to pass another vehicle, she honks. Traffic just works differently here, but it works.
