That elderly black couple who were praying just before they were shot in the head. Were probably praying to the Christian God. Most if not all of the black victims, likely claimed to be Christian. Probably most if not all of the white people how caused the riot, claimed to be Christians. Did God represent either side? The Black people certainly needed his help. Where was this God. No one is born a slave. Humans are enslaved. They are totally and completely born free under the right conditions. But this guy in the video speaks the king's language very well. Good video

It was HIGHLY appropriate for Douglas to make this PHENOMENAL speech in 1852. However, we are in 2023. If Douglas were still alive today, in 2023, he would not be making this speech. I absolutely love this speech and everything about Frederick Douglas, for that matter. I also believe this speech should be a required reading in every school in America FOR HISTORY PURPOSES, not as a tool for black people to tear down and divide our nation today. We are in a different day. There are enough issues today to deal with than to keep rehashing the past issues of when our ancestors were enslaved and not afforded the privileges of the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution. We have all the rights and privileges to all that is in both of these documents today.
