RS's and SS's probably the ugliest pumps Dennis ever produced. They all suffered from DDR (Dennis door rot) to some degree. The Sabre XL was probably the finest appliance Dennis ever produced. We called it the armchair, comfortable, fast, responsive and handled really well. Superb piece of kit.
Very dramatic but not believable. 3 pumps would not be vying for position on a city street nor would they be tailgating so close. The building site worker would have to be deaf and retarded not to hear 3 pumps approaching.
0:00-0:10 you can see in the window reflection, the dockhead appliance standing outside to be ready to respond to an actual shout, dockhead was still a working station as they filmed London's Burning so they had the appliance outside as they were filming in the station.
If anyone is wondering this was filmed at Wansford station on the Nene Valley Railwau. The stations still looks like this today, so a good visit for any londons burning fan
For anyone wondering how the fire started, the chef left the stove in the buffet car on and cleaning chemicals next to it. Then a can fell on the flame and after a few minutes, it exploded starting the fire. By the way, It's a real shame for the Mk's and the Mk2 coach. I know their Intercity livery was fake but I liked it. Did you?
