Barry and Jay......I love top watch these interviews with the two of you. Doesn't matter how often I watch them, I always laugh even though I know what is coming. My favorite in this one is the part with the Accordion. I am still laughing the next day about that piece. I also love the second song that Barry sings. It certainly fits into the time frame of when this was done, but now it is 2024 and that song is something that everyone should listen closely to the lyrics and it still fits in now. Love you both...............Betsy Blue-Eyes
From age 6, they were. When Graham became too constricted by the Hollies (who did not want to do some of the songs Graham had written), he went to America to spend some time with Joni Mitchell. He was disappointed to hear other men inside, but went in to find David Crosby and Stephen Stills having dinner there. Afterwards, one of them said, “Play Willy that song we were singing.” (You Don’t Have to Cry) They did, Graham thought it was awesome & asked them to play it again. They shrugged & played it again. He had memorized the words, noted the pauses and all the details, and asked them to play it, “0ne more time.” They did, Graham sang it perfectly with his light tenor putting on the top harmony, and after 45 seconds they all had to stop and laugh because they had produced CSN’s iconic sound in 45 seconds. They all KNEW what they wanted to do for the foreseeable future. Graham flew back to England to quit the Hollies, which caused a rift with his former best friend (years later, they made up) and returned to the US to begin the many years of CSN & CSN&Y, and began his 50 year long best friend relationship with David Crosby. I was young enough when I saw this not to realize how brilliant it was. Imo much funnier than modern comedy with themes and language so cynical and ugly. Aside: wonder how many who watch this know what "vertical hold" is 😂.
Also if ya dig and enjoyed this video 😀 you may also enjoy the song " Most of All " By Glenn Kaiser and Where Roses Grow Live by Rez Band Awesome songs check them out. Also I remember hearing the song by Led Zepp " In My Time of Dyin " during my drug years and made me think about death and Jesus. Then a hippy friend that dug Jesus told me more of Jesus love and forgiveness and how I could also know Jesus love. So in 1981 I cried out to Jesus and wow man He came into my life and I had and have so much joy and peace and now know that through Jesus when I die I will be with Him in Heaven. Hey Jesus loves each of you also and yall can know Him if you are at all open. Just cry out to Him and a good question to ask yourself if you were to die today would you go to heaven ? And if yes why ? To find out more please read the Gospel of John in the Bible or check out the movie on RU-vid. 😀
Barry and Jay.......As usual I always enjoy this one as it is funny, Barry sings 2 songs and I love the banter between the two of you. The second song is very important now ( 2024) too. People really need to listen to the lyrics and put some thought into what Barry is singing as the world is upside- down right now. Love you both....................Betsy Basile
This man was worried about how he was going to do on the show? No problem at all! Dave was a great help to him with the questions and his kind of funny demeaner. Let's face it hewas cute funny and matter of. fact. He was honest in his answers. Very good job😀
Barry and Jay....................Great interview and both songs are terrific, but the 2nd one is very appropriate for now too (2024)! The lyrics are just what we need right now. Oh the accordion part is really funny. Must you bring this up again? Great response Barry. Thank heaven the piano rescued you and you realized that you had to sing. What a joy to listen to your music and I love you and Jay together~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Betsy Blue-Eyes
