You're funny...good stuff! Too bad about the track closing. I work in the thoroughbred industry (in Maryland) and I find it sad. But interest has waned. I hope, too, the horses' remains are relocated. I subbed-up!
Old buildings often had basements that extended beyond the outer walls allowing for those little rooms with gratings to provide light and ventilation for the lower level. The advent of modern HVAC systems made that unnecessary and made for cheaper foundation construction by getting rid of the reenforced holes in the foundation wall.

During my gold panning trips on that road I would stop at that location where the aqueduct passes through the mountain and always wondered what the heck that was! Thank you for this video and your awesome commentary :)
