Just happened on your site. I have lived in the Sacramento suburbs for more than 40 years. This is the first time I am aware of a night market here. The only night markets I have been to were in Malaysia. We call it Pasar (Market) Malam (Night) and there are food offerings and sundry goods than you can ever imagine. The stalls are set up along the city streets. They move around from different places within the city. I wish there are night markets here with similar vibes to feast on. Thank you for sharing.
That's sounds so cool! While the American night market scene I think is very different from the Asian ones that inspire it, I still think it could be a fun visit if you're ever wanting to check it out!

I can't watch the video with sounds at the moment but do u know if u really do need to carry a clear bag? It says on the website but I'm seeing no one carrying clear bags. Or can I carry those kind of bags that holds my water bottle and other small things, for ex wallet, sunscreen, etc? Plz someone answer back soon
As a vendor, I'm not sure because I have a different set of rules to follow. Since this response might be too late, as I was very busy at another event this weekend, for future reference, I would refer to the website and follow along as best as possible.

as a customer summer fair was super overwhelming and crowded to me!! even with a map i kept getting turned around and lost lol and there wasn’t enough aisle space between booths for the amount of ppl i couldn’t stop to look at things bc i had to keep moving to not get stuck! there was definitely more space towards where the cats were that could have allowed the rows to spread out just a tiny bit more and they ran out of water bottles rly fast 🥲(also can events start having physical maps again plsss ur QR code is not gonna work when there’s barely any service in any convention center 😭)

I remember being excited to try an sjmade event and being ready to go when this event was released but when I saw the booth price of $500 my mouth dropped. The best event I did recently was in sf, it was a two day market in Japan town for about $220 and the ONLY event I’ve done recently that seems to care that their vendors are small artists and therefore have small budgets shoutout to mini art mart. I recently turned down an event that was asking $350 for a 6 hour event. What is with money hungry event planners that charge hundreds of dollars for artists yet cannot bring the consumers to their own event?! Depressing as an artist :(
Yeah SJMade events have been very pricey as of lately. They used to be cheaper, but since they've started using larger more expensive venues, tables have doubled. Mini Art Mart is a great show! And any excuse to go to Japantown is welcome lol
I just finished watching, and the most I’ve spent to table at an event was abt 300 dollars w inventory and everything, but it was a third of a table and I’m in Mexico 😅
I really like your blogs because it’s really interesting to see the perspective of an artist who sells almost fully original art and in night markets, I love artist alley vlogs but I have noticed most are about anime conventions and artists that sell mostly fanart (which is totally great I just like seeing different perspectives!!)

I go to Japantown all the time, I love it so much! Do you ever sell at the monthly art market? It's called the Mini Art Mart and it's on Saturday & Sunday once per month (2x in December).
Yes, it was actually my very first show ever back in May 2022! I’ve sold at MAM a few times after that, but haven’t been back in over a year. If it works out with my schedule, and if they’ll have me, I’d love to sell with them again 🤗
loooolll not vending in the 1920s.. lawd allmighty. and yes the hagglers are one of the unpleasant things and they buy it anyways and it's like what is the point of it. but love when you put food in your vlog cause ya know me.. i love food. the filipino sound noise is ON POINT. i gotta love it. and i think the economy (and election year -_-) is probs why people thought it was slower this year. and i LOVE japantown- used to go alot when i lived in SF for college. it's soooo cute and the food is good! i haven't been back in years but now you're making me think of applying to this event next year.
I went to Japantown for the first time this year and loved it!!! I went straight from my hotel after flying in and just spent the whole day shopping. Also, I love when you review the food you get at these events. It's a little unique, fun touch.

I’m often at LA Little Tokyo but I’ve been to SF Japantown once years ago when we were in SF for The Playstation Experience and the Capcom Final. I remember that clearly because my purse decided to break that day and I allowed myself to splurge on a Tokidoki bowling bag hahaha.
That sounds like a perfect reason to splurge! Also, I’ve only been to Little Tokyo very briefly once, and I want to go back and really explore next time

Honestly, the size small Eugh Girl looked great from the back! I think it ends at a really good area, halfway (?) down your back, letting it display nicely and unwrinkled. Looks great for tucking in, too!
Absolutely reasonable worries and critic. A canopy can really hurt someone, and so can a heatwave. I would not be comfortable vending in an area like that. Outdoor events should have a requirement of weights, imo.
