1) I will use it as a visual recording of how my photography knowledge and then skills progress and 2) I have a keen interest in Digital marketing and building an online presence by using the different social media platforms and a website.
I am keen to see what work does it actually take to build a viable ecosystem. Hence me starting this at the beginning of 2022.
So, if you are perhaps like me a Gen X'er or Boomer 😃 and have put off learning anything over the last few decades 😬 perhaps this will resonate with you. If so, please subscribe and follow along.
I am aiming to upload a video every week perhaps more if I can, first covering the Panasonic Lumix G9 camera and key photography skills and then also additional topics as mentioned.
I live on the beautiful Gold Coast and are spoilt for choice when it comes to scenery to shoot both here, on the Sunshine Coast and Queensland. 📷 🏄🏽 🏖
I have used aftermarket batteries in my G 85 and did not have any problems. Used the DSTE batteries, and even bought their grip. Both items worked fantastic, though, with any lithium battery bought new, I would charge and drain it 2 to 3 times, right off the get go. Then use it for what it is intended. Now that I have bought a used G9, once again looking at aftermarket batteries, and will probably buy the DSTE grip for it. Good way to double the use time, and gives me something extra to hold for vertical shots.
Excellent Video!! Thanks a lot. lol .... I'm already G9 owner. but I didn't know how to use fluency. This video really helpful. I searched youtube about g9 setting. and watched it. But This is the Best!!
Thanks to the author for the work done! I wanted to ask if you could take a video and show all the camera settings in "menu/settings" and show what you changed and what you left at default, if you haven't already)
Hello! Please advise, my g9 camera does not switch from AFS/AFF mode to AFC mode when I lower the slider and it says Switch to AFS on the screen, how to change it?
You made a video about your canvas prints, and we see the prints and the images for less than 15 seconds. Friendly advice: make it less about the camera and more about your photography and the print results. By the way, I have printed 30 by 40 inches from a 12MP Olympus E-PL1 and the print is outstanding, even up close. Cameras have peaked years ago in terms of required image quality - if one knows how to use them, gear really does not matter at all any more.
Thanks for that. I also own a G9 and have done for several years; I'm very happy with it and what it can do. I have the 12-60mm, 100-400mm and am presently enjoying using a Olympic Macro 60mm lens, which I've hired for six months. Can't praise the use of Lightroom strongly enough, plus using Anthony Morganti's RU-vid channel for tutorials on how to maximise its usage. I haven't done any canvas prints using my G9, but I have done some prints and I'm aiming to improve to do some more; hopefully I'll capture some top macro shots shortly; time will tell. Good to see you on RU-vid; along with Andrew Goodall, on the Sunshine Coast, there aren't too many Queenslanders doing RU-vid; keep up the good work. Mike in Oz
Thanks for the comment Mike, yep I follow Andrew too and will start to watch Anthony Morganti as I’m just starting my Lightroom journey, you are right when you say there’s not a lot of us doing it here in Qld, getting comments like yours just encourage me to keep going so thanks heaps 🙏
Thanks again for your simple explanation of the capabilities of the G9 Keep the tutorials coming as there are still a lot of folks with this camera out there
I've been taking photos for years on auto, now finally I have time and so this year I have decided to learn all about my new camera, the Lumix G9. Very pleased to have found your videos 👍
Thanks for putting together this video! I'm a 'wet behind the ears' Noob and attempting to educate myself with all the functionalities of the Lumix G9. This is a tremendous help!!
Thanks for this nice Video. BTW it works with a GX-9 as well and probably with a lot Lumix Cameras. Unfortunately it seems that the red focus-light in difficult light situations doesnt seems possible to be inactivate in Auto (Plus)
Thanks for that. I can confirm that you do not have to keep the button depressed unless you are tracking and need continuous focus. Otherwise, for single shot you can press once and compose then press the shutter.
I wish there were more videos like this. I learn fast, don't give me a 5 minute introduction. Just tell me what it is and I'll be on my way. Thank you.
When I bought my G9, I was bewildered by the multitude of options. Often I would find an option turned on or off and searching the menus to find the adjustment took such a long time. I found I was just using a very simple setup and not taking advantage of the versatility of this camera. The best tip from this video was using the personal customisable menu. An example is that I use focus peaking but sometimes want to quickly turn it off for a clearer view of my composition and colours. So many thanks for this very useful tutorial. I have subscribed.
Focus🎉I set these on Gh6. So far means everything in front of lens is in focus at the right fstop? I struggle with large room w multiple subjects like karate dojo w constant breathing. Near or far help? Wich one if so?Thank you
Thank you sooo much for this tip. I have had a scene in my head for so long and didn't know how to shoot it or even if I could shoot it until today.I have 2 questions. Was this clip shot with the kit lens? And for a new filmmaker purchasing an S5 body,do u have a recommendation for a good lens with a $500 dollar budget? Or 2 in that budget if possible?
Thanks! I do not have the G9, only the GX9. That said, they have the same sensor and similar menu options. Many of the features you have unpacked on the G9 have helped me with my GX9. Someday I would love to own a G9 but for now my GX9 is my go to M43 camera.
I am new to Panasonic (Olympus shooter). I've read the manual ten times on how to set the date and time- but cannot find the menu to make these settings. Can you please help?
why does my automatic switch off? switching display, screen on lumix g9? after a while, only the display switches without me interfering with the lumix. Tanks
