Steven here and I hope my channel can help share my passion for designing and city building in Cities: Skylines. I enjoy the process of building that city from zero and watching it grow to something incredible. Join me on the journey to improving my city building skills.
Love seeing small towns like Springport taking big steps! The new office district and warehouses should really help locals thrive with lots of jobs. Great initiative to keep jobs close to home! 🙌
Really enjoyed putting these together. Hoping soon we can start to make some money and not constantly run in the red. Got a cool video out in the next day or 2 then I’m going to build a golf course.
Absolutely loving the level of detail in Springport! The custom school district and sports facilities really bring the community to life. It's great to see how you’re building both education and local spirit with the stadiums. Can’t wait to see how this brings tourism into the city! 👏🏙⚽⚾
Thanks again and fact the people enjoy watching my videos still amazes me. This is my favourite build so far. Got some good ideas going forward just need more time in The day so put the videos together.
Sorry I’m not sure. I have just updated my RAM from 8GB to 32GB and Ive gone from jumpy on medium definition to running comfortably on high definition. Game changer for me.
I love your videos! just one question: how do you ensure that the props you delete from the growables don't reappear? they reappear as soon as I use move it
Thank you. I get the occasional prop reappear but generally it’s good. I generally do move things after I’ve deleted all the props. I assume you’re referring to using move it. Not sure if there is much you can do sorry. 😢
Absolutely loving the vibes of Havenwood already! The level of detail you're putting into this build is insane. Can't wait to see this old American small town come to life-this is going to be epic! 🚀
Thanks, I’m excited about this one to. Hopefully we can have fun. Upgraded my RAM from 8 to 32 so game is running smoothly on high def. Let’s see if I can do a good job of capturing the small down American feel. I’ve been on google maps a lot that’s for sure.
Consider working on a small segmment of road not connected to the network. That really makes it easier and less chance of disaster. Road builder is a blast but can be a terror.
Absolutely blown away by the attention to detail in this build! Using Google Maps to recreate Hurley Riverside Campsite so accurately is pure dedication. The colour layering mod really brings it to life. Amazing work!
Thanks very much. This one was tricky, took me a long time to put together. Colour Mod is a great addition to the game and can help give cities a lot more character and realism. Looking forward to my new city build.
You’ve truly brought Luton to life in every intricate detail. The stadium looks ready for match day, the row housing feels just right, and the scrap yard and warehouse areas add such an authentic touch. The mosque, schools, and recreational spots are just the icing on the cake. This is hands down my favorite build of yours yet! If this doesn’t capture the essence of Luton Town, I don’t know what does.
Watched your Luton town builds and thought you did a fantastic job. Have gone back to start of series and now catching up. Great detailing, I too play and have lots of inspiration from content creators, I just feel like mine don’t look as good as videos I see
Thanks very much for watching and glad you enjoyed the videos. Don't worry I feel exactly like you that mine is not good enough. Maybe we are very harsh on ourselves.
Thanks for the lovely comment. It’s because they have -10 mail service and hopefully deal with it next episode but I think potentially it could be a bug.
I realised that half way through haha. Would I have wanted to lock every house individually, probably not though. If you could mass lock that would have been great.
Wow, just wow! The growth you've shown on your channel is absolutely inspiring! Every new video showcases your improving skills and creativity. Your passion is truly paying off, and it's amazing to see your journey. Keep up the fantastic work, and I'm excited to see where you'll go next! 👏 Oh, and I might now need to move to Luton 🤪
Thanks very much. Really enjoying the realistic builds and hope to do a few more of those as everyone watching seems to like them too. Got a few ideas I'd like to do after I restructure the city following this theme. Once again thanks for the great comment and hope I continue to grow as a Cities Skylines 2 creator. Your right though seems more of an interesting place to visit once you build it haha.
Yes was a fitting build for the game. I hope I can find more good ideas like this one for future videos. Just depends what areas in real life are like what we have available in game.
Absolutely blown away by this build! The attention to detail is incredible, especially with the perfectly aligned row housing and the realistic replication of Luton Town FC's stadium surroundings. It's clear that a lot of passion and effort went into this project. Can't wait to see what Part 2 brings! Keep up the amazing work! ⚽🏟🏘
Thank you so much! It’s a long video had to break it down into 3 parts but hopefully lots of detailing yet to come. Hoping to do more builds like this going forward.
Hi Jacob! The algorithm lead me to you, and I'm so pleased to find you. Been a CS2 fan for awhile and havent had the chance to play it, and your type of build is really right up my alley. I hope you stay consistent with your upload schedule, while I have a handful of episodes to binge Wish you the best of luck on your RU-vid journey!
Thanks for the awesome comment. Appreciate it so much. Now is a good time to play if you haven't already as the game over the last few weeks has improved a lot. Welcome to the Jacobs Village community and thanks for watching. Hoping to upload 1 or 2 videos a week and continue to grow the channel.
RU-vid randomly suggested your video to me. Good so far, will watch the rest! But I have to say.. your voice sounds remarkably like Tony Robinson, a guy that hosted a British TV show called Time Team!
With the addition of the new schools and city service buildings, you have a great opportunity to revitalise downtown Mapleton. By swapping out some of the existing structures for smaller, high-density buildings, you can make more efficient use of space and enhance the area. Meanwhile, in the villages, you can introduce smaller, more community-oriented buildings with appropriate capacity - helping with balancing costs effectively throughout?
Yes great idea and will surely bring freshness to the city and ensure I have appropriate-sized buildings in certain places. The new detailers patch has come at the perfect time.
Wow, Economy 2.0 is really messing things up in Orange Blossom! Building a new university campus is such a smart move to address the city's low higher education levels and upskill the community. Looking forward to seeing how these changes impact the future. Looking forward to seeing how you tackle the growing traffic in the city. With the trains you may need to bring both lines right into the network and delete the local line if you may get a bottleneck at the Campus station. Keep up the great work!
Yeah really has messed up Orange Blossom. There are so many issues that need addressing in the next episode or 2. Traffic is no doubt a big one and I tend to be poor at the traffic management aspect of the game. With the growing population I simply need more education still and post offices to. Could be fun though.
Hey big brother, I just found your channel and I really enjoyed watching, and yes I did subscribe. Also I like your style of design and detailing because it's unique and I can easily see the talent behind the skills, so I just wanted to let you know that I'll keep watching and sharing your videos with as many people as I possibly can. Take care keep up the amazing work.
I do love all the work that you’ve done, but as a suggestion on the train station I’d add a little yellow line at the edge of the platform next to the track that a lot of other stations have, so that people know to stand back when the train approaches.
You could do all flowers for a town like -Roseville -Daffodil Peak -Tulip Town -Orchid Ridge -Mumson -Peony Heights -Lavender Heights -Bluebell -Daisyville -Camellia -Lily -Poppyburg
Everyone has a different approach to building a region and I really think yours is truly unique. Building small villages and towns with their own personality right on the edge of the growing city is so refreshing. So looking forward to see how these areas grow and change as demand requires. I think you should look to have 2 passenger lines - one to each extra city, not a loop as part of the route will not benefit you at all - and don't forget footbridges at the stations!
Great idea with the 2 lines. Makes perfect sense and wish I would have thought of that. Path over the top would be great but always over shadows the stations and looks massive. If I can get one to fit would be better for walkers.
Station looks nice but could use a pedestrian bridge! Now you have a college you should get some office demand rising. Hope the patch treats the city well!
Yes would be great but it’s getting it to fit with the build and not take up a massive area and over shadow the station. I’ll see if I can make it work.
And you have to create a "boneyard" (or breakers yard) for all the old tractors you keep removing. That would be funny and relevant (maybe an off camera task). Or a tractor dealership. LOL
Another great episode drop! I think the incinerator location might cause issues longterm due to the wind direction - and don't forget to connect the power line. Is the highway west of West Downtown connected to the outside world? Make sure to implement lane mathematics (e.g., 3 lanes into a 2 and 1, or 2 lanes into a 1 and 1). For that busy junction, add some asymmetrical roads by creating an extra lane on approach, with the new lane designated for left turns only. Considering the proximity to the police headquarters, those new 3 blocks might be prone to graffiti in the inside car park - wink wink Great progress so far! For names, how about Amberdale, Hazelwood, Mapleton, or Cedarbridge? Follows the theme.
Thanks again and thanks for following. Might have to move the incinerator and that whole area. Maybe move it so the air pollution drifts out to see. Yes I'm learning about road layout as I go and will definetly think of lane mathematics going forward now you mention it. Something I hoping to improve on. Yes graffiti could be a great idea. like it a lot haha. Yes could have that theme for a certain area. Have themes for pockets of cities across the map. You have great ideas, would love to see your cities.
@@JacobsVillage33 Unfortunately I have a Mac so no CS2 for me. I work from home so have RU-vid on in the background so it feels like the office environment. You have any socials or contact yet?
You shouldn't need mods to place buildings around curvatures even SimCity 2013 had feature where you could place the buildings at any curvatures and the surrounding car park Greenery and paths would actually mold themselves into the curve so you wouldn't need any kind of mods and you could place them anywhere I think this game is missing a lot of features still it's a shame that you have to mess with mods to allow for such simple things
Great job with the staggering. I think with areas where all buildings look the same / height / type you just have to play wackamole and replace one here and there with a low commercial or something just to break it up. Stagger, stagger, stagger. Think of NYC and air rights. Would love to see a little of the waterfront expanded across the road and reclaim some land with a nice riverside walk to soften the impact - like Chicago and maybe even a Ferris wheel eventually. The row housing could be broken up here and there with a corner shop? Got to love a tractor, I live in East Anglia and we get tractors going down the Dual A roads at 30 miles an hour 🙂. Looking forward to seeing your traffic solutions. There is a trick to get the colour decals / buildings you want, I think I saw it on @Piccana.
Some great ideas again thanks. Added those great ideas to my list and definitely going to add a river walk soon. I love a tractor too. Annoying they block everything from miles away.
