But yeah man absolutely in the 2 stroke world people were actually trying to squeeze the berry for all its juice they’d have a pipe built to the actual spec of the engine. If you weren’t totally worried about fit then you’d have just an elbow and a straight cone. Unfortunately these AM parts companies have to make them fit on the chassis. Comes down the timing of the sonic wave in the pipe going back and forwards on each stroke .If you don't get that right, the pipe will not work right at all rpm’s. One wave helps drawing fuel in the chamber, and the other wave seals the exhaust port, stopping the fuel mix from going in the exhaust pipe. It's called pipe timing.
You are 100% correct. I’ve made several pipes . Each used the same formulas to determine all of the dimensions you described. No pipe is universal in my opinion. You’re spot on. Two stroke tuners handbook has the formulas. Great video

I got a problem for you guys to solve….looking to put a bigger head on a Taylor 65…..longer rod, lightened crank and piston wrist pin relocated with 15:1 compression. Need your help!!! Also the dbxl needs Losi MTXL front arms. Helps a lot and if you dont raise the chassis try bigger tires 190mm or j concepts magma….keep posting!
Hi k/T is right on cylinder,put the pipes on the market are way to small . The big bore pipes for Taylor and alx are more for 38cc to 40cc .if you have a 30.5-40cc I have pipe that I make . Same as you see here but I can custom make any pipe you need and that’s were the power and over rev coms from to porting !!!!!!! Pipe pipe pipe !!!!!!!!!
