This was due to both a clogged Static and Pitot, in gliders you have several indications of loss of lift. However on Tow I knew I was good because we were in a Positive rate of climb as oddly enough my Altitude kept going up. I think I took the Tow to 3000’ that day and felt out the ship to see where I was flightwise doing stalls based on sound and how sloppy and sluggish the ship would react. Once I had that I flew the pattern based on. sound and feel and had a pretty uneventful landing. I think I have the rest of the video somewhere. But I had great mentors and alot of training. The Cirrus was an awesome ship I miss it some days.

Do you know if it’s possible to find the tape for the spoiler after the fact? Just got a used spoiler and I want the tape but can’t seem to find it. On a scale of 1-10 how difficult is the installation?

One warning for any others planning this upgrade - don't use any kind of impact driver to loosen the nuts on the bolts - it needs constant tension to loosen them - impact rotation may damage the captured bolt ( seated in plastic)
Did you have any issues when the bike started, I got the indicators working tail light working , hazard wouldn’t work, then when engine was running the indicators were really faint,, did you have any issues afterwards.
I tried to do this, but one of those first 5 bolts continuously spins and there's no way to get the nut off of the bolt. It's one of the edge ones, not sure if there's a way to take off the first 4 and then figure out some way to take off the last one.
Hello! Thanks so much for posting this tutorial, I used this beginning to end to install this on my girlfriend's hatch. As you mentioned, when removing the original spoiler the clips broke and fell into the tailgate. Now that I'm done, I can still hear the old clips inside the tailgate everytime I lift or close it, and it's driving me nuts. Do you have any tips on how to get those old broken clips out of the tailgate?
Well you could try and fish them out, but in my case I left them in there, I think eventually they must have wedged into come crevice over time and I no longer hear them rattle. Glad the video helped :)
@@Slambog Oh man, you are a more tolerant man than I. Hopefully they get wedged somewhere soon... not sure how I would fish them out, there's zero visibility in there! Thanks for the response
@@Ryan-by8kb I don't know if you still have the noise or if you got the broken clips off, but if you remove the hatch panel (the big panel that would be above your head when it's open) there should be some holes in there. You can use a mirror and a light to try and see the broken clips and reach in with your hand or tools to fish them out!
I just shook my tailgate a ton and eventually i got to go back towards the top side of the car part and grabbed in there. Huge pain though and it somehow ended up on the other side 😅

Thanks for this vid! I just got purchased my Mazda3 hatchback last Saturday and got the spoiler in today. I'm debating if I should try this myself or just find an autoshop to do it for me. You said it took 2 hours; a few I've called gave me labor estimates of 5 hours, which seems excessive. I may use this video to show them they are overcharging LOL
Omg. 5 hours? I just bought the 2022 HB and my Mazda dealer quoted me 2 hours. I didn’t believe it at first after seeing the instructions on paper but after watching this video and your comment I’ll consider myself lucky I can get it installed for 2 hours at a real Mazda dealership service center.
I think a pro can do this fast, took me a day cuz I didn't have certain tools I had to go buy, like a 10mm long socket. I'm also very meticulous on my cuts so everything takes longer for me.
