Hey man love this, I’m in the exact same situation, I want the fx3 but worried the zve1 is better for travel / carrying around with my XT5. Was the overheating issue on the zve1 that bad? I probably will shoot 4K 24 in bursts of 5-10 minutes , but will most likely keep the camera turned on not recording for 20-30 mins will I be able to do that?
I think ZV-E1 can last in short burst for sure, just make sure to put the temperature settings to high & have the screen popped out so it doesn’t keep heat close to the internals! besides that I think it should be good unless your in heat with the sun hitting the camera constantly other than that it should be good!
I think it really depends, I think the a7cii does a fantastic job of recording video, i’d only suggest FX3 if you need longer term recording or if you need pro features like time code or the top handle. a7cii is enough to record great videos!
@@officalmattknows I am so thankful to you, in fact I am not professional, I just kept A7Cii and 2470gmii just for fun during weddings, birthdays or when we all family members go outside etc. So you mean quality of the image of 4k footage will be the same. No significant improvements in case of FX 3, ?
@IRFAN-po5sz I mean the fx3 and a7cii have different sensors, if we get technically there’s definitely differences in them but for what you’re saying you’d use it for I think the a7cii and 2470 gmii is more than enough! and you won’t be disappointed with it, some of the benefits the FX3 has would be maybe better rolling shutter performance, low light performance, & no overheating, buuuutttt you wouldn’t be shooting faster sports so fast camera movements won’t be something you’re doing often, & the lowlight performance is really good on fx3 but the a7cii has dual base isos on slog3 (800 & 3200) and I think 3200 is more than enough! good luck and have fun with your camera!
technically the ZV-E1 & FX3 do have the same sensor but the main reason I decided to upgrade to the FX3 was the long form content that I needed to film, the ZV-E1 wouldn’t last a full hour if I needed it especially in Texas heat lol regardless the ZV-E1 is still a great camera & for the price too!
Oh yea definitely the FX3 is a beast bro great choice!! It’s been said across RU-vid that they have been using the same sensor for years. I have the Canon R5C and I was definitely jealous when I seen my friends every camera has its pros and cons!!
Cause there is still nothing better out there than the FX3 and the A7S3... I myself got the A7S3 and the A7IV and they are absolute MONSTERS! Got all GM lenses also so you really made a great decision to get this Camera! This Camera is gonna be still the best for years to come!!! >;)))
totally agree with you! even if newer camera come out the a7siii/fx3 will be viable for years to come. Glass is especially helpful with image quality and that’s why I myself have a hand full of GM lenses also lol
love the video dawg! new sub. ive had a super similar journey to you camera wise: lumix G7 > Sony a6500 > A7iii > A7iv. Just picked up the A7iv and have been loving it bc I needed a good hybrid, but def see myself down the line getting either an FX3 or waiting for FX3ii to drop. Great video though, appreciated your storytelling and great shots! looking forward to more content!
yea we had a similar camera journey, that’s crazy! I was going to wait for FX3ii but I keep up with sony rumors and no sign of that camera coming anytime soon! appreciate subbing as well!
The 35 GM is definetaly the sharpest lens (my favorite lens)... but my question would be... have you ever had chance to test out the Tamron 35-150 f2-2.8? because I was thinking of getting the 70-200 GM II as well, but 35-150 is just so much more useful range, especially doing run and gun video shooting... not missing moments switching lenses... also cheaper lens, with great built quality.
honestly the 35-150 was the only lens I had to think twice about before grabbing the 70-200, ultimately I went with the GM mk ii, for the 1st party features (oss, better autofocus, breathing compensation, & sharpness) but truthfully I could see much more use from a 35-150 and now have done weddings I can see the 35-150 to overrule the 70-200 as an all around lens to carry all day. plus its performance is really great for a 3rd party lens!
@@officalmattknows Yeah and I just updated the firmware via Tamron's utility app... the video AF tracking got even better. I mainly shoot videos (events or travel content) but I wanna get into indoor sports like basketball and a lot of people told me, they bought this lens too, because they realized its easier to do those sports with 1 body 1 lens instead of having 2 cameras with 24-70 & 70-200. The weight is the same technically as the 70-200 GM II (with the lens hood and tripod collar on ~ 1200g). Honestly when I travel I only bring only my A7IV with the GM 16-35mm (27-60mm w/ active steady shot and focus breathing turned on) for video and this 35-150 for photo. When I work this lens itself is such a beast... at 35mm f2, makes me barely touch my GM 35 f1.4 sadly and that's my favorite lens... :D
Hello Matt, Did you also consider Sony 70-200 FE 4 mark 2 version? Considering it has macro capabilities as well. If yes, what was the reason not to go with it?
mainly I needed a lens that could be an event lens and portrait lens for me so 2.8 would give me more bokeh, other than the macro capabilities I still feel the tamron g2 has more value for the price, Sony Mk 2 f4 is pricey for what you get out of it
if you’re able to spend the funds needed for the 70-200 mk ii 2.8 I think it’s definitely worth it! I still use this lens almost 80% of the time for most shoots! especially for events where you want to be out of the action!
that’s awesome! & if you don’t want to spend the extra money for the GM, i’d recommend just going with the G2 70-180 from what i’ve seen it looks like a fantastic lens for the price, if you have spending room go for the GM!
yes exactly brother, mini 3 pro was a huge step up from the previous drones i’m sure something even crazier will come but for now i’m very happy with my mini 3 pro!
