Torbjörn Åhman is also another excellent resource for blacksmithing videos. As well as Brent Bailey Forge, Mark Aspery, Brian Brazeal, Ethan Harty, Hoffman Blacksmithing, Rigoni Iron works, Faram Forge and many others.
Inventing new tools instead of going out and just buying one is literally what we've done for centuries and how we've gotten anywhere, and people will get mad at them for it
Friendly tip! If you lower your anvil to about knuckle height it makes it much easier to hold things between legs. It will also help your back in the long run!
Lmao oh Man, all the videos aimed at (and From) those who common sense isn’t so common in kill me. Who ever woulda thought you might need to hold something in an anvil without using your hands 😂😂😂🤦🏼♂️Groundbreaking
Thats the worst base Ive seen. Your maybe transferring a 1/3 of the force of your hammer blows. And thats if your lucky. I get it, its mobile to bring in out of weather. But thats a no go my man.
@@BEMetalMelting I suggest using a hardwood stump base. And, do everything you can to compact the spot you use it on, however, do not, I repeat, do not place your stump on concrete pavers. I swear you can feel it in your elbow. You want more of a dead blow effect, more than a bounce effect, to get the most out of your hammer blows. I move mine with a 2 wheel hand truck, that I extended the base and added gussets, because mines so heavy, I broke a stock 2 wheeler. Of course everyone is different, but, this is my advice. Best of luck, and... If you like the movie "finding Nemo"... I will be working, and start singing in my head... Just keep swinging, swinging swinging just keep swinging...🤪😉
@@mikebolton3816 hahahahah that’s good just keep swinging swinging.. I have been on the lookout for a big stump whenever I run around but I haven’t been able to find anything big enough I have my old railroad track anvil on a stump but it’s only like a foot tall, i have been thinking of what I could put it on to raise it up! Keep a lookout I’ll have a new setup soon! Thanks for the advice and not just trying to put me down like so many people do! 😂😂
