Bait & Switch Tactics I was car shopping online when I came across a used car that piqued my interest. It was at Terry Lambert Hyundai, so I navigated to their website to check out their specials. Upon entering the website, a white coupon with blue writing popped up, stating: “GET YOUR $500 OFF COUPON ON ANY VEHICLE” The fields for entering your name, email, and phone number were visible. I received an email from them, but it didn’t contain the coupon or any confirmation regarding it. Fortunately, I took a picture of the coupon before it disappeared. While I found the vehicle I liked, it only had one key fob. I attempted to negotiate a price reduction that would cover the cost of one key fob along with the $500 off coupon. However, during the negotiation for the out-the-door price, they declined to honor the coupon and added the $350 cost of the key fob to the fees. Both actions raised red flags for me. The sales manager claimed that the coupon applied solely to new cars, yet there was no indication of that on the coupon itself. Furthermore, they insisted on maintaining the key fob's added cost in the out-the-door price, proposing to write me a check for $350 separately. But this addition meant I'd be paying interest on the extra $350. Ultimately, I decided not to proceed with the deal. The dealership ought to update their website to clarify which vehicles, if any, qualify for the discount to prevent setting false price expectations for customers. Moreover, they demanded a non-refundable deposit to reserve the vehicle, a condition to which I objected. Buyers, beware! The Salesman was Terrance. The sales manager was Mike.

My 3 week old 2023 Elantra SEL started alarming Forward Collison assist warning and radar blocked after 500 miles. There is nothing obviously blocking either camera. The dealership won't agree to look at the car for another 3.5 weeks. I have to be in driving and the alarm starts at 0.5 miles. every time. I then have to go into the touchscreen and disable the FCA while I am driving. This is beyond unacceptable in a car brand new car that promotes technology as a star feature!
