Three songs in and i love how u articulate, take ur time with ur words and just breathe through every sentence its awesome to see and its very much appreciated
Ah so fun film fact about why we associate the 80s with horror. The excorsist in 73 is the first horror movie to be truly mainstream, so as more are produced and get wider attention more come out, then with VHS becoming a thing in the 80s, home movie sales greatly helped horror
The Man Who Left Too Soon was made for her loved one's father who had sadly passed away, she didn't play it at her tour because it is a personal song, but it has healed me so much she's such an amazing artist
Since the season's changing, you should check out Ethel Cain's Preacher Daughter (if you haven't already done so). It's a 2022 album but it's still so fresh and I would love to hear your interpretation of the story and production
Hello Joie ! 👋 I discovered your channel through your Starf*cker video and I just want to say that I thoroughly enjoy your content and the way you interpret songs! Your perspective always feel so different than mine, and you explain it with such eloquence ❤ Thank you for the new content and I hope you have a (hopefully not TOO depressed) September !
I've been on a Midwest Princess first listens youtube tour for months now... I don't do this otherwise, esp. for pop girlie music, but Chappell is sooooo different. (Saw her live in May.) I'm white, male, straight, older, a rocker, and I loooved your reaction vid -- my only quibble is I wish you made it 15 min. longer. You're an insightful lovely woman with a great camera presence and delivery, best of luck with your channel!
I think I get what you mean but I think Charli xcx just intended it to be lighthearted. So it might not be apropriate but it‘s somehow funny and I wouldn‘t hold it against her. But yeah, good video :)
Hey Joie, i'm just halfway through the video but I can already tell your perspective on things is really interesting, and you're great at communicating it. Good job
Chappell says interviews now that she no longer dates men + she wrote the album before and during dating women for the first time, so comp het is a theme. After Midnight is the one time she says she “kind of” wants to kiss a man in a bar, but in Good Luck Babe says “you can kiss a hundred boys in bars/make a new excuse try to stop the feeling.” I love that she’s being transparent. She’s changing SO many lives taking this route, the realization can be confusing, and comments from teens especially show it 😭
It's funny you said Thirsty makes you feel like you should be listening to it driving around at night because Thirsty is the track Tinashe said is giving her project "Nightride" vibes because of the reverse vocals in the beginning and throughout the song
I love your approach to music reaction videos, it's very refreshing to see a youtuber who is commentary-heavy. i always click off when music reactors say absolutely nothing besides like "oh that was good"
