It’s all about men not being men in the US and Canada. That’s why it is the way it is here. Men are scared here. They won’t stand up for what they believe in. That’s why I love travelling to Europe. In particular the Balkan Nations.
Dang, imagine a world where everyone can enjoy their sports how they want, and Europeans don’t need to tell us how they freaking go storm Normandy. You could try to build bridges with American fans, but all you want to do is tell us how we suck at being fans. I’m a SOCCER fan and I can tell you that your snobby, stuck up European egos are what hurts the beautiful game the most.
Greek sports fans, the twice European example in the video, arent just fans they are fanatics, at least for the most part. Young kids and teens die every year due to the teams they support, usually regarding football. After games, fans rally on the streets violence and vandalism take place. Stores, cars and dumpsters near the stadiums are never safe after games. I watched this video and thought hey that's a pretty tame and safe crowd. There are incidents were fans died in the studiums. It's insane here.
I was laughing when some USA fans said Luka Dončić would be amazed by our atmosphere. Luka came from playing in Europe, where Turkish fans are insane; USA fans are nothing compared to them.
I get it (college basketball probably has better atmosphere though than NBA) but still there's nothing like seeing the greatest players of the sport in a place like Madison Square Garden as opposed to somewhere in Serbia
I remember how disappointed I was the first NBA game I went to. Been to a lot of different European events inside and outside (up to 80000 spectators outside), but had high expectations to a game inside a building with 18000+ people and world class players like Dirk and Allen Iverson at their peaks.... but turned out to be like a <1000 people handball match.... the highlight was when some dude came out shooting T-shirts into the stands with an air cannon...
