Thanks man, been trying to find someone to explain this and will use this when I’m ready to replace mine. You’re a life saver man appreciate this alot. They want over $500 for this job..
Can confirm this will fix your P0440 issue. I just replaced mine 3 days ago. Drove from Alexandria, LA to Dallas, TX and back. Code has not come back since. Thanks for the video, really helped alot!!
seems like Ford knows this is a problem, but never addressed it, I need to look at my 2015 Plat. cuz a $7 tranny replace would make me Bullshit, this guy is luck to catch it early, there's Ford Tech Makuloco
Your ziptie tip saved me a bunch of time and frustration...so thanks for that. The old parking brake lever was probably just raw steel with mill scale and the new one appears to be zinc coated, so that will probably solve the problem permanently. That said, I'm gonna start exercising my e-brake a couple times every month to breakup any rust formation.
Replaced purge valve 1st. No luck. Then this vapor canister. Fixed my code p1450 and added 2.2 mpg avg to my 2017 f150 2.7 Eco boost. Thanks for the video
I’m stuck at the “love tap” part 🤣 came across your video trying to get that lever out since it’s such an impossibly tight fit with both levers being seized and everywhere else online everyone is saying you need to remove the axle 🤦🏼♂️
Hose works great but you can get some more grunt out of this and after i break the plug loose i usually shove this on there and take them the rest of the way out. It’s very easy to get in tight spots. Giggidy
Thanks for the video! My 15 3.5l ecoboost started throwing this code and my mileage went from 22mpg highway to 16mpg highway. Performance was still there but the mileage was horrible. Thanks again!
Good video sir. For most I would replace those 2 lines that connect up front as well. Those are also prone to failure and are not very much $ and you also dont need the tool mentioned if you do so. A real shame that it appears so many f150 have the potential to destroy there transmissions because of this. I caught mine between oil changes before it leaked but it would have been a complete failure not just a drip. Those lines will dump it all out real quick when they break.
Hey man, does Ford leave enough room to press out, and press in new extended hub studs while in here doing the parking break? It's either that or I've got to pull the axle shafts.
I wouldn’t be able to say for certain, I’ve never ran extended studs, but I’d say yes, probably be able to sneak them in between the brakes and then use a big socket and an open lug nut to pull them in and seat them. Let me know how it goes!?
I did mine at 58k what a mess, on one side one clip and a pin just vanished the pad pretty much were non existent one fell of the steal all four rotors and brake pads were shot which made me question were did Ford get these parts made I am thinking the cheapest place on the planet.
I just did mine this past weekend. This video was very helpful so thank you. I struggled to get the old lines out so what I did was basically disassemble the lines on the truck. I took off all the clips, and clamps that held them together and separated into individual lines. I then dropped the sway bar and they slid right out. I did the same to the new line set and slid each one in separately. They went in with ease.
THANK YOU. I have been ignoring this code for a long time, because I could find no definitive information on where to find this part. Gonna fix this up soon!
Slide a few zip ties threw once threw go amd press the ebrake in, then do up your zip ties, once there done go back in truck and release ebrake, all done no fuss
@RU-vidCert lol true enough, I was lucky I use mine regularly so wasn't frozen thankfully, but used the rest of the video thanks to you got everything changed out
