Too bad the Imperial Japanese War Ministry and Mitsubishi hampered the development and production of the Raiden at every turn. All production efforts were put towards the Zero and Betty, along with cramming precious Sakei radials into only them.
Gotta give Horikoshi-San credit. He could create light fighters like the A5M Claude and A6M Zero, but he could as make Interceptors such as the J2M Raiden and A7M Reppu at the same time. Talented engineer, that one.
You know, Tamiya IJN Light Grey does have that greenish, hempy hue to Zero grey when you look at it closely enough. Except you could argue with 10 different modelers and get 10 different opinions and mixes/shades about it.
Love it! Beautiful work! 👍🏻👌🏻👏🏻 I have this kit as well and started on their J2M3 (JT45, 09145) a while ago, I better get on with it and finish her! You just popped up in my feed, so I subscribed as well! All the best from a Swede in Glasgow, Scotland! 👋🏼
So, the gun is not movable? It looks like they tell you to glue it in place. Why would they do that? Also, the suspension is two pieces which is bad. Good enough review but this model isn't that good tbh. When other 2A8s come out nobody will buy this i think. At least it's cheaper than the 2A7Vs
I would've like to see the attachment of the propeller and the painting of the finished model as well. Did you use the plastic propeller or the photo etched? Thanks 👍🏻
