Waiting for the review. Please also include some gaming and comment about if it heats up during day to day tasks (not heavy load), since many reviews say that it gets warm even in normal tasks
I want to know more details on thermals under light loads as well. This laptop checks all my boxes but all the bad reviews about thermals have kept me from buying. My use case would be 95% watching RU-vid, reading news and scrolling social media.
@@kjammer22 to be honest the thermals arent bad watching you tube and social media no issue i have mine set on whisper mode for extra battery life and it runs cool of course if you game on performande its gonna heat up it s thin light nice and loooks good but for what your gonna be using it for it will be great its just like any other laptop you start to push their limits and there gonna heat up but i havent had an issue
Thank you for the video. Especially for one that shows this model with the IPS screen. I have a question for anyone who can answer. I've returned a Yoga pro 9i with a Mini-led display because it gave me sore eyes in 10 min. I couldn't use it. If there's anyone with eyes as sensitive as mine owning the touch/non-touch IPS Yoga pro 9i, how does it compere to Mini-led? Thanks
love the detailed review, i just bought my unit and i am waiting to receive it. I did have a question for you, did it have a carrying sleeve included ?
btw the reason why it says balance mode on the test is because the "power plan" that you have on your computer is on balance, to change that you want to search " edit power plan" on the search bar and then change it to performance, also their was an additional bios update that hp did to improve the performance on this laptop on the CPU because they realized that it was being limited. Hope this helped :)
@@arnulforamirez4836 and did you install all updates from Lenovo Vantage, specially bios? It is strange, battery should run at least for 4-5 hours in such configuration.
well thats hard to say because the oled proart studiobook had a desktop processor which was fast but also power hungry it was good but 2 to3 hours of battery life wasnt cutting and now this new is fast nicely build and battery efficient i do recommend turning off the gpu when in use to get more battery out this p16 its good either way have had no issue so yes i would pick this one because still getting good performance and battery at the same time and welll built machine
If you want more raw power it's the studiobook. The i9-13980hx in the older model is still way faster than the i9 ultra in the P16. However more power equals less battery life. The Studiobook is rocking 120hz though and has a full numeric keypad for excel work.
can you do a speedtest of your cardreader? Mine peaks at 90MB/s, to slow (my cards can do 130MB/s read which I get with my USB SD reader) If you have such fast cards.
thanks i suggest getting it i come from intel and am very satisfied with what amd has done it has no issues its well built the display is very nice battery is awesome to run fast no lags what so ever well at least not my unit subscribe and wait for the full review this laptop has every thing ive been wanting wxce-t the numpad but well the audio makes uop for 6 speaker system
It's okay, you can't be seen on the screen, you're constantly visible on this shiny screen, it would irritate me, it's one thing to use an OLED screen on a smartphone or tablet, but on a laptop it would irritate me
It's good that you can still buy a laptop with a matte display, because OLED is OK, but this glossy screen irritates me and I don't know how some people can use it for everyday work.
Hello Friend! It is a great review, I like it Want to buy similar one but can’t find anywhere following information: What’s the exact sizes of the box it comes in? And its weight? Can you measure it, please?
@@arnulforamirez4836I can buy it myself, thanks a lot😊 My logistics operator asking for the box sizes 0:42 for accounting delivery costs. Can you measure sizes and weight of the box in which you get it from Best Buy, please?
Looks really good so far. Unfortunately there's been no mention of them selling the 64GB version here in Europe. I really wanted to buy that one. Every European retailer i see only has a 32GB model. Would be a shame if they decided to only sell that model.
yes so far its been a good laptop lovin it for only being 2 days with it its very clean feels durable the screen is crisp and clear for being 60 hz it smooth no lag according 2 asus it has a 0.2 ms responss and it shows the speakers are loud and clear no distortion has of 32gb so far thas all ive seen maybe you can have asus build you or in near future they will release it since these model were just released 32gb is good for me but more is always better stay tuned for the full review soon subscribe to my channel if you like if not already a subscriber
You could add additional ram sticks onto these laptops. I could be wrong. I have a 16' Studiobook OLED ProArt and upgraded my ram to 64gb and added another 2TB of SSD the moment I got it.
Czech republic does have it in 64gig ram version, but I'll still buy the 32 gig version, don't want to pay half of the normal price on top just to get larger storage and bigger ram
can we gret r23 multicore scores? ı suspect this version of the laptop is much less powerful in cpu as compared to last year.. How is the fan noise, that s important too.. Thanks
i will post a full review soon will be testing it for a few days also i do this for any further updates that dnt go thru during the first intial setup so i will have full scores last years model was a beast but killed tha battery so quick as well this model has ran smooth so far and does well on battery
@@arnulforamirez4836 Thanks I cant wait for that review ! Yeah it seems they made a compromise of the cpu for the sake of battery, but serious professionals like architects myself care a bit more about cpu too. I also wish they made it 120 hz (2k ) . Overall, seems like a nice devise so far, not too strong though..
@hasandeniz6612 yeah I know what you mean I come from intel and it seems to running strong no issues there's different settings too so I'll show those in my review but runs well no lags or issues at all so far
since i just got it yesterday havent fully tested all that but so fat being on it all day it lasted nearly 12 hours editing my video and normal task fans arent noise no whinning from fans heat is wel controled but l havent tested gameing so i should have full review soon stanby mode battery is great lost about 1 % while away and all these were out of the box havent switched but i will for further testing it is nice and feels great not to heavy either
@@chris6048 coming soon been testing and using the laptop just had another bios update but heard theres one more in the next day or so waiting on that to be able to make sure its at its full potential so far a lil insight it is really good battery life last too review soon
Got 2023 model with RTX 4080. It's gorgeous beast. Not only ot does handle all by business/work (development) needs, but also any game on max settings.
yes it is and that was best battery effiency i took it back due to that issue and it is a nice powerful laptop thou subscribe to my channel am about to do a review on the new samsung snap dragon x elite 16 and lets just its snappy and very good battery life
Did you end up testing the battery life at the optimal settings for general tasks like web browsing and youtube? Im curious to know how the i7 model compares to the i9 model.
I really don't know why this model is so expensive here in the Netherlands, almost €2600 for a RTX 4070, while the model does not have Mini-LED or OLED. Why is it more expensive then most other laptops, even some models have a 4080 for that kind of money.
great review imo its what the consumer needs to see them small details and that genuine not planned no script no ad nothing full customer experience I would just recommend to invest in a camera and a gimble to elevate the quality of your content a zve10 would be perfect with 28mm lens or sth
how is the power consumption in iGPU mode? does it have the DGPU did not disconnect and still consume power without showing ( gen 8 have this issue and never got fix, the only solution is to switch between iGPU > Hybrid mode > iGPU mode again, wait a little bit and power consumption drop another 6-10W)? Thanks
it does alright not if you adjust the settings and and use the intergrated graphics it says it supports gsync never saw the setting for it in nvidia control panel
@@arnulforamirez4836 Hi, The settings are in Vantage or Lenovo Legion Toolkit (LLT), you will be able to change the GPU Working Mode. In the Legion 7i Gen 8, when set the laptop to iGPU only mode, the system unable to disable the Nvidia GPU and continue to consume power like 10W without showing. When you first turn on the laptop in iGPU mode, after awhile, the power consumption is hovering around 25-30W (set display to 60hz, turn off led in keyboard, dim display brightness to 50%, turn on battery saver in Windows). This indicate that the laptop have the same issue as Slim 7i Gen 8. Basically, every hour, the laptop consumes 10W more for nothing and reduce the battery on time. Lenovo never fix this issue that it can be very annoying every time I use the laptop. it supposed to consume around 14-18W on battery in iGPU mode, so around 5-6 hours battery life.
hello and thanks for watching yes the top doesnt cover the complete bottom no its not a defect it was made like that yes that caught my attention as well it does look off but in reallity the screen is big and i see they needed the support the screen to body ratio is 94% but its not bad i will go over that in my next video since you brought that to my attenton thanks
you asked about the thermals so far in balanced mode its been cool to the touch not like last years model where just idleing it would get warm to the touch i will be testing more today and post my review may go live for the first time not sure yet but so far it stays cool i played some games on yesterday in balanced mode i didnt run pretty cool so i will push it harder today it does get warm when entering the bios for some reason i guess because thats main processing
@@arnulforamirez4836 man, not much upgrades compared to last year, but atleast Lenovo can make it perfect. Do you think I should get this or wait for next year?
@@arnulforamirez4836 Replying to thermals comment: I see, if possible, try rendering something at high resolution in Blender. Oh, also about the RGB: Is there a mode where when you press a key, the RGB lights up? Like the lights should light up whenever you press any key.
OOh yes! glad to see this! I saw as you said it the website hasn't been updated and it only shows the black one. Thanks for getting the white. So did order it before hand or was it just sitting there in the store?
thanks for watching glad i am to bring the good content they only had 2 in stock so i went for it so far so good liking the white even thou i didnt think i would feels smooth just so nice be doing a one week review so keep an eye out for that and hopefully have updated it to 32gb
Good job bro but how is the battery life with you right now after using the laptop long time ago , because most of the reviews show bad battery life 😢❤
the battery has been verry good last at least 10 hours or a lil more depending on what am doing i charge it once a day and it last till the next day doing basic stuff if gaming surpriseingly i does doesnt drain that fast i have display at 50 percent and still bright and dynamic refresh rate i did try it at just 120hz i didnt do to bad either other then that its been good havent found another laptop for 2024 with specs like this besides gaming laptops this one basiclly does it all just with a 4050 which handles gaming well on this even in balanced mode let know if i can help you determine what ypur looking for
@@arnulforamirez4836 Thank you bro I appreciate your response ,well I want to use the laptop for programming and I will use it outside more that's why I'm just worried about the battery life and if there is any problem with the laptop let me know please because I want to buy one ♥️
@@arnulforamirez4836 thank you bro I appreciate your response , Actually I just want the laptop for programming and play game sometimes and I want to try the 360 mode I hope it's useful because it's touch screen but I'm just worried about the battery life because I saw some reviews they said the battery life not good like other laptop . If there is any problem with the laptop please let me know bro because I want to buy one .♥️
Thanks for the comprehensive review. BTW, I really love jazz and that "elevator music" you played sounded great. It's an excellent way to hear the fidelity of music.
How are the ergonomics with the raised keyboard after a few hours? It looks like a gimmick and actually more stressing for the wrist :/ Apart from that the zenbook looks amazing
Thanks for this review (long time i was searching for this exact comparison on youtube vids). Exactly like you, I've been more than hesitant for a while between these 2 (as their both amazing). Ended up getting the Asus (mostly for the durability of the build I guess), but in any case hard to tell which one is best. I think either way it can't go wrong ;)
honestly i got my asus still and sending my lenovo back due to the battey and the asus still last longer on a charge even thou it has 13900h rtx407 0 it still out beats the slim pro 9i 16 in battery if yu got the new asus its still 6000mhz and the lenovo doesnt support pen i do like the lenovo but the battery kills it and am use to oled am thinking of getting the proart studio book the new model 13980hx rtx 4060
to be honest i havent tested the asus strix g16 but brands are good but display wise you definitely get a way better color accuracy from the asus the slim 7i has a good display just not as color accurate
Good stuff! How does the fan noise and thermal performance compare on these two? Also, is there enough of a difference in build quality to where you would say it would impact long-term durability (I'm talking 4 years +)?
thermals are good on both they get a lil warm but not anything to complain aboiut or to be concerned about fan noise is not noticeable unless to game or doing heavy task even then there not super loud the asus has egornomic keyboard which raise when opening up the screen which helps with airflow so no jet plane noise there both durable the pro 9i does have screen flex but the asus is solid no flex and the asus is honestly bulit way more durable and you can tell once in your hand but both are right on par love them both but for some reason i love the lenovo and but the asus come with a mux switch and the lenovo doesnt but overall there both great you cant go wrong with either one
there both good laptops and both pros and cons the slilm pro 9i 16 is a really good laptop with a fast cpu at 6400mhz the bad thing only about that is the 75 watt hour battery i got j6 to 7 hours out of it which isnt bad. but the legion slim 7i has a 99.99 watt hour battery which if you set the settings right you get about 10 hours not gaming just doing normal productivity another thing is thAT IT DOES get warm to the touch not bad thou unless your gaming. and pro i9 doesnt get hot at all has good thermal control
Hey! Thank you for the unbiased review. It's great that you can get up to 6 hours of battery on the Slim pro 9 model. I was worried that it would only last up to 2 hours. If I'm planning to use it for Chrome browsing, do you think I'll also get around 5-6 hours?
i think you will just calibrate the battery make sure you update everything drivers and apps i also left mone in battery saver mode ran fine and fast charge it all the way and let it get 2% and charge it and extra hour without using so total of 2 to 3 hours to calibrate
