Another way to do it is to pull them outside the car and close the door, all the water stays outside then and can use a high pressure washer, also a good idea to pull off the bottom cover as gunk builds up at the top of the real that needs cleaning out
So just from the shots of the back and the plug on the power cable, it looks like a Raspberry Pi3b, with some sort of CAN reader through the CAN terminals on the OBD Port. You can also get OBD extensions and double adapter cords if anyone's interested
I was interested to see how you replaced the bush for $25.00 and I was thinking even using a stock pard bush it wouldn't be possible. Image if we had to put out vehicles over the pits every 12 months.
@@RossHollandAU I’ve seen a few in my workshop over the years but never have I seen one with such a story behind it. The best I have seen in my shop is 320,000ks before it needed a strip down.
Hey brother. How much did this cost to set up with all the parts etc. Keen to do this to my 2005 ba xr6 na. Like the set up. No battery relocation thats good.
Thermostat, Struts, Balljoints, Control Arms, Battery, Hoses, Gear Selector bushing/linkage, Sensors (i.e. O2, MAF, etc), Serpentine Belt (maybe the pulleys, too), Spark Plugs, Injectors. I refuse to believe it went 1 million Ks without any those being replaced. Other things that I might expect to fail with time instead of Ks would be things like switches, relays, motors. i.e. window wipers, door lock actuators, horn etc. Yea these cars can go and go. But that's only if you spend the $ replacing anything that fails.
@@D3V1L0M3N to be fair it did all the km sitting at 110 km on pretty decent roads, im sure it went through wipers and the usual service items. I should know I serviced the thing since I was a teenager haha. It did need a water pump which I think I did mention im the video. Hard to believe but the old man did own it from new and ot got serviced without fail 🤙
Ah yea, was it a pilot car or something? That's the thing with these fords; engine usually outlives the rest of the car - especially the paint lol. But I reckon it's time that gets to them more than Ks. i.e. my BA only got 200,000 and alot of the parts made of plastic or rubber started to go. New hoses, radiator, etc and she's sweet 😀
@@D3V1L0M3N he was a country courier driver like 800km per day, Ford promised him it would 1 million km if treated right with 🤣 guess they were sorta right
Damn I’d love to do that. Can I ask what company he worked for? 800km, reckon that’s about Adelaide to Melbourne. 10-11 hour drive. All the B-doubles do that run. Then turn around and go back next day.
@@RossHollandAU All good, that's an awesome achievement. I just bought a 500 dollar BA with 216,000km so surfing and researching what I might need for a roady. Keep up the videos 👍
I’d hate to see my diff bushings after over 300,000kms. Every time I accelerate I hear the clunk, every bump, ever time I reverse and every time I brake.
Hi mate . I've got a ba xr6 turbo, im thinking of building the btr gear box, i want your advice and opinion, please, what i should upgrade in my gear box to hold up to 350rwkw Is an example a stall converter ? And add a shit kit? What do you recommend? Thanks.
@RossHollandAU can you please send me the link here so I can directly buy the right one? Please, for some reason, my google search took me to different services. Really appreciate your help. Thank you.
Manual transmission is a must . The standard Auto isn't up to scratch, I wouldn't buy a used XR6 turbo with an auto transmission with more than 60,000 k's your basically buying junk after that
@@JunkyardDogffaThe 5 speed manual trans was a bit outdated and notchy. You can improve them with nulon or Penrite additives,I think Ford got the six speed manual gearbox from a German manufacturer , I think it was available in the BF XR 6 XR8 at the latter part of 2007 onwards but I'm not 100% sure, apparently they were also a longer gear box, so that would involve sourcing a shorter tail shaft or shortening your existing one of you are a skilled enough artisan 😏
Nice mate well done. I will be watching with interest I have a soft spot for Barina. I have an SB here that I've wanted to turn into a hill climb or a Nugget National Car for years, good luck with the challenge and racing series
