Hi Amy! Great video! I have been wanting to get some gold Lamy nibs myself. They seem like they would be bouncy and fun to write with. You inspired me to make a New Nib Day sheet (in black and white this time!). Keep up the great work!
@@AudTalksPens Glad you enjoyed it! I would be happy to share the recipe. It's 6 parts Lamy Crystal Beryl to 1 part Diamine Blue Velvet (from their 150th anniversary collection).
I'm always so happy to see other people with ink on their hands!! Thanks for sharing! I just got a masuyama cursive italic recently from when he was at FC and it's so fun! I should do this type of video.
My Esterbrook Lilac in M was also a lot finer than I expected. I think “more precise” is a great way to describe the difference between a Jowo nib from Esterbrook vs other brands. I really enjoyed this video. It’s a great way to see all of the many options available for fountain pen users and that’s before we even start talking about custom grinds.
hi Wendi! When this pen was new, it would give me extra ink randomly as I wrote which I did NOT appreciate. I never knew when it was going to happen. Now that I've had it a year, I'm wondering if there was some user error involved - like a bit of air when it was filled? I'm not exactly sure, but it has been a long time since it gave me extra ink. The July sale EndlessPens has on these right now is nearly $50 better than the price they were when they came out. I'm a bit bitter about that, but at least mine is numbered?😆Had I known they would be released again, I would have waited a year!
Very first pen? I'd keep it, and just put it aside. My list: Keep: using and enjoying Keep: not using (various reasons) but have some sort of sentimental value - first pen, gift from a love one, memento from a trip, etc. - I would probably store these in a different location from the ones actively being used, so I don't keep considering them, only to keep not choosing them for use. Everything else is subject to leaving my collection, and I hope they find a nice home with someone who will appreciate them.
The wingsung 630 has a 12.5 - 13.2 grip section thats really chonkey.Leonardo Momento Magico at its thickest part has a 10.8 12mm grip. Admok m800 has a 10.5-11.7mm grip. Narwal original 9.7 - 11.5. Pilot 912 10.5-11.5. Litterati desk penwhich is 204mm long is 11.6-12.7mm ... those are my chonkiest gripped pens I hope that helps :)
“It’s a Jowo nib, OK” so true, I have many pens with Jowo which are good writers. Thanks for video, my first exposure to Lotus pens. Tempted to get one.
Yesssss!!! So glad your Fioritura Viola is your premium pen. Such a gorgeous and elegant purple Leonardo ^_^ The La Fenice pattern looks great in that rose gold nib. I probably should have done that, too! XD I too, cannot just keep 10 pens. And If I were hypothetical, I would not follow Drew's 10 categories of pens hahaha!
It's the ink! I have only had nightmare experiences with Rose Gold Antiqua. Wait till you try to clean it out! I will never put that in a pen again! Lovely colour though.
Thanks for the validation! I felt silly blaming it on the ink but it seems to be the problem child of my ink collection. Maybe I should resort to using it as a mixing ink... 🤷♀️
@@NotesFromPastAmy nice! I have a number of machines. I'm a Singer Featherweight specialist so I very often do my sewing on one of mine. It's like the sewing machine version of a pocket pen!
