I like this music for Stephen, and the choreo is good. Now if we can just get Stephen to crack a few smiles to the judges or the crowd to make it look as if he is having fun out there, the whole thing would be received very well.
His coach does super nice choreographies, teaches very well figure skating. Unfortunately that sport can't be taught in many countries because it is too expensive, but in the U.S.,Canada and in Europe it can be taught to few people. It would be a really good idea to teach it to some public/ private elementary schools through an agreement between those schools with some skating clubs for lessons at very low costs for some months for basic lessons 1 to 6,freestyle and preliminary levels in ice rinks. What schools do that in New York,California and in other states ?? My other idea is to teach for free beginners skaters who have exceptional talent to be world class and olympic level skaters in a national training center. Ads could be printed in newspapers to the public on lessons aiming to discover and teach motivated children to be very succesful in figure skating. Scholarships could be given to those gifted kids, they would have to be chosen for their aptitudes and natural abilities to learn the sport so they can be triumphant athletes in the future. They would have to be part of an important team that could compete in nationals and in world class competitions. Companies could pay for the ice time and trainings, students could pay for some other things plus their skating equipment. Making things possible to what seems to be impossible can be done between people,as long as the right talents are involved and are taught, they could be given a chance to succeed.
Skating is very hard for adult skaters. You can get hurt more easily. When I was 9 nothing ever hurt but as you get older your body feels different. I was told to relax the muscles, people can do different activities like light exercices. I do drawings at times and color them and I feel creative and better, art really relaxes people's minds. My mother colors adult books and a friend of mine paints and draws..they feel much better mentally. For aching muscles, daily massages work really well and breathing exercices are a plus..
Are these the national skating championships for Canada? Why are there so many empty seats in this arena? What has happened to Figure Skating in Canada? It used to be a big sporting event. Maybe it just is not big in Alberta. What a shame.
Yes, this event was Nationals. The weather was very cold and the venue not easily accessible according to people who went. The marketing of this event seems to have taken a back seat in the prep for Worlds so it turned out like this. Also some people do not feel that the level of the talent is high any more and they do not wish to spend money or use vacation time for Canadian domestic events.
Poor Stephen. You can tell from the way he speaks and behaves that he does not want to skate any more. Its clear that he is only doing it because someone (likely his parents) is telling him to. When he was on the podium at autumn classic he looked catatonic, like he didnt even care. Not only that, but this sport has also caused him major injuries and health issues, such as the back problems that caused this disastorous skate. Please just let Stephen be a college student and live a normal life for once!
I don't believe Stephen's parents are the type of people who would force him to continue against his wishes. They appear to be people who support what their sons wish to do (e.g. Peter gave up kayaking when he went to university). At ACI23 Stephen did not appear to be happy with his free skate. He likely wanted to win silver at least, and score much higher. Though he has always been reserved in expression during medal ceremonies. Even when he was winning everything in Canada he rarely smiled. Stephen will walk away from the sport when he wishes, but from what he's said it's clear he has things left to accomplish. We just don't know if his health will prevent him from achieving what he desires. We just need to wait and see what comes next.
I worry about his injuries, some athletes gets so injured they end up in an operation room or in a wheel chair or unable to walk nor climb stairs nor unable to lie down. It is a big problem to have a back very injured. He might have to stop competing for awhile and train without jumping doubles nor triples nor quads. Some Quantum healing centers are fantastic to heal injuries, there is one where he lives in Irvine,Ca. Their medical beds and facilities use high tech equipment, some have lasers, special creams and great therapies.
@@arf2847 He was 11 years old at the time of this event. We don't have any recent updates on Stephen, just that he is injured and working on recovering.
He did so well… I hope he’ll get some inspiration from Nathan Chen and develop his lines. I’m tall for a skater and I grew 5.5 inches in one year and it was so hard. I was 6’2” when I stopped competing but my coaches had me in dance classes and I had John Curry, Robin Cousins, Janet Lynn, Dorothy Hamill, scott hamilton, to learn from … he’s coming into his own… I wish the best for him.
Usually Stephen Gogolev picks music that you have to turn off, it is so bad. Sounds of Silence is a big upgrade, but I would have preferred the Simon & Garfunkel version.
Wow. GREAT program - terrific choice of music. Fab choreography. I thought this was undermarked. Felt this was a easily a 90+ program. LOVE it. And greetings from London UK!
Definitely on your way to success. Once again, thx for bringing ," Sounds of Silence " , to the skating platform. I personally will keep on returning to your personal expression of it.
The program is beautifully choreographed, and it’s a pleasure to watch it. I hope Stephen will get more confidence on his jumps during the season. Congrats on bronze medal🎉❤
