I am the great custodian of 80's Commercial Advertising! In this vast library I will provide many hours of entertainment with many volumes of commercials. I shall also provide riches from the transitional periods of the 70's and 90's and select entertainment and news offerings from this awesome and sublime time period. Witness! the glory days of commercials!

As I said in a previous volume, March 1986 was when the big call sign change to WNEW to WNYW happened. There were other commercials with WNEW and other personalities telling us about the new changes. Out of all those electronic retailers at 6:32, the only one that's still around isn't The Wiz, it's PC Richard!
Every M&Ms commercial that I’ve ever seen from the 80s has been delightful (especially the annual iterations of the same family at Christmas); this one is no exception. How heartwarming.
A&P- 2:15 Seeing the image of the woman mascot on the Francisco Rinaldi Spaghetti Sauce jar brings a nice jolt of nostalgia to me. I don’t think that image changed a whole lot over the years. Meineke Discount Mufflers- I never knew Meineke had such a diverse variety of clientele visiting their business, from an old lady, a tough guy with a metal cuff bracelet, to a nerdy man. Also, I find their logo that consists of a muffler with a smiley face at 7:30 to be pretty charming.
The Palace Theatre is a lovely venue. Obviously was too young to see La Cage there back in the day, but have seen many productions there over the last 20 years, and seeing one there during my upcoming trip to NY. The theatre was renovated recently, so looking forward to seeing the new inside.
Fun fact the blizzard of 1888 is the reason why Manhattan has an underground elecrtic grid. Why the hell places that much more desperately need it haven't figured out that idea yet when they did in the late 19th century is beyond me.
0:09 - Love Manhattan history, so this was interesting for me. Might have to visit the current location when I visit for a theater trip in a few weeks.
10:32 - RIP Home Pride. Sucks it isn't sold anymore. Or if it is, it's impossible to find in my area (doesn't exist, and hasn't existed for years and years). If anyone knows where it is sold or if it is deliverable to other areas, I'm all ears. It reminds me of childhood and home
Identifiable landmarks in KRON signoff film: @0:25 Dutch Windmill, Golden Gate Park (pre-restoration) @1:16 Nevada Falls, Yosemite National Park @1:31 Vernal Falls, Yosemite National Park @2:21 Saint Teresa of Avila Church and Potter Schoolhouse (of "The Birds" fame), Bodega @2:34 Morro Bay and Morro Rock @2:46 Pigeon Point Lighthouse
yeah props to the Pequannock Township High students on that ad! hopefully those kids made something of themselves since! also someone wanna explain to oldsmobile that's not how 'imports' work? but some great ads here for sure.
Chocolate ex lax was NASTY. I mean, NASTYYY. Alka seltzer was bad too. Cinnamon Lavoris was the best. I had forgotten Anacin. My grandma was still perking coffee on the stove. They had some pretty cars .
6. Lestoil- The distorted picture at 1:59 in this commercial gives it an interesting horror movie vibe, I think. Golden Blossom Honey- I’ve never heard of putting honey in cereal like at 4:15, but for a cereal that looks like bland corn flakes, it looks like it could use the sweetness of honey.
It actually was affiliated at this time. You can see the logo at 03:04, and the announcer calls the station "Fox 5." *Edit* 13:26 Matt Lauer announces the acquisition too.
Genovese Easter Extravaganza-Easter Bunny looks a bit scary there Schlott Realtors-"HBO presents:Dick Schlott..After Dark."*cue saxophone music* Pepsi Double Take Coupon-used to save a lot of those Jersey Central Power & Light-looked like they could be background gang extras in Escape From New York Golden Blossom Honey-let the guest enjoy it, there's plenty of other jars in the cabinet
10:33 - Yeah, this couple really knows how to spice up their relationship…with bread…Then the kids walk in and wonder what the hell their parents were up to…
"Jersey Central Power & Light" - I this and thought I was seeing some kind of Doctor Who episode. Or Roger Corman's really tightening the film's budget. LOL
That Genovese commercial with the guy in the Bunny costume reminds me that on Easter of 86 when these aired, my family visited Disney World in Florida and stayed at an Embassy Suites hotel that was near the park. On Easter Sunday, they had a guy in an Easter Bunny costume visit rooms with kids to drop off baskets. We used to have a photo of young me at the door to our room with the Bunny guy, but no idea where it is now.
It's not just a promo for a Bat man The animated series episode, but it's for one of the best episodes, Heart of ice. The episode won awards it's that good.
I'm one of the few people probably in the world that actually likes the 1993 super Mario Bros movie, but then I also like the movie Wizard. Some of the stuff that was cut from the 93 super Mario Bros movie probably shouldn't have been because some of it actually makes the plot of the movie make more sense.
Pioneer: At the very start of this ad, I could've sworn I heard Gardevoir's cry. Bold 3: (Because I can't help myself) Did they bottle it? KFC: Is that Will Vinton Studios with the claymation? Because it certainly looks like it to me.
