Y’all should know the ticking noise is very normal for these gen 3 hemis, it’s not excessive in this video my 5.7 with 223k miles has worse ticking than this and runs fine
@hannahmartinez3885chill out my guy i stated what I said because this is a crappy motor lifters cam set is 1300 on up for parts 2,000 for labor because of an engineer flaw. Get your weird ass off my comment. They build these crappy motors in Mexico no wonder.luckily I have two cars. It’s a flaw in them motors my guy they’re powerful but still and all I’ve owned a lot of cars
@hannahmartinez3885ifters alone cheap but if you gone go that far in the motor you might as well get the whole cam and lifter set with the Turner 1300 or better non mds cam and lifters make sure it’s the newer lifter set tune it take mds off. My lifters tore my cam up I had to buy the whole set with gaskets everything basically damn near rebuilding my whole top motor dodge is bogus
@hannahmartinez3885 yes I have a 300s 2014 it’s nice that shits not cheap to fix that’s not something that should be happening especially if you change your oil. They’re known to go out if your check engine come on for a while and shuts off for a while that’s what it is if you don’t fix it quick enough your cam will be ruined and it’ll run fucked up
@hannahmartinez3885 it’ll run for a while mine did and I believe my lifters started going bad at 70,000 miles. I heard the ticking but thought it was just my injectors it ran until about 177,000 miles and one night I took it out and it ran fucked up and the check engine light came on and started blinking that’s when it’s bad. I thought about throwing a 6.4 cam but decided not too. The power gain not worth it unless you gone really rebuild it and supercharge it. I bought a regular set for it and got a deal on the labor because some charge more
@hannahmartinez3885 nah I akways eased into the power. Never took off putting the pedal to the floor I babies it. To me I had enough power to where I didn’t have too. I don’t think running it hard plays a factor me doing the research on this motor they’re known to do this. Matter of fact when I tried to get my set from mopar they were sold out and I had to wait so that shows you something isn’t right. It’s said to be the design of the motor. I wanted a challenger next but I think I’m go with a Camaro or corvette. Give my daughter the 300 when she goes to college I’m a few years. Good luck as long as you got the money for it and ready to do it you’ll be fine. When mine went out at the time I didn’t have it luckily I got a Malibu too. They’re nice powerful big cars but I believe the motor design is flawed. Do your research lol they tearing down 5.7 liter motors all day on RU-vid discussing this issue
