Welcome to Get Wiggy With Brea! I'm Brea and I started this channel to offer ENCOURAGEMENT, INSPIRATION, AND EDUCATION on all things hair, hair loss, and wigs. After suffering from hair loss for years, I decided to take control of my situation, document my journey, and help others along the way. We are keeping it authentic in this corner of the internet so I’ll be sharing some real life, lots of wigs, and everything in between.
@GetWiggyWithBrea hi! I bought some wigs and like most new wig wearers I wasn't thrilled with the first few because they looked, to me, "wiggy." As I learned to play with them and alter them I really fell in love with them. One day while I was pinning and braiding my own hair I thought...why? My own hair didn't look half as good as the wigs and was really just a hassle. I called my daughter into the bathroom and asked her to buzz my hair off. We actually used the pet clippers! I went from shoulder length to 1/8 of an inch. We had a blast doing it. She gave me a Mohawk first and different things until it was all off. It's so liberating! My shower time and getting ready time are cut in half! My hair always looks great. I can be short, brown, silver, long and everything in between. I constantly get compliments on my hair now. No fear baby-girl. Always embrace what feels good and right for you. And you look great!
@@kate8706 I LOVE that response! What a good attitude and bonding experience for you and your daughter. That’s kind of how I feel now, my hair is just there but does nothing for me so maybe one day!
The company has explained in Instagram comments that clamping down or fusing on the glue pad can cause it to squeeze around the lash base and be sticky in places you don’t want it! They recommend to just place and gently push it on but not to clamp on the glue pad
@@prettypetite hmm interesting! On the website how to video, as well as the video provided with each pack of pop ons, they explicitly shows and tells you to clamp down at the lashes base. I wonder if that’s newer feedback? Thankfully, other than the slight initial stickiness when I clamp down, I’ve had no other issues and these lashes have lasted around 9,days with every set.
Darn! It doesn’t say in the description? This is from Mane Wishes - shes a recently rebranded wig designer who used to have cancer herself and now donates a wig with every sale. I really really love it! She named this one “Brea” after me 😭🥹
@@sero0716 yes! I showered just like normal, I didn’t scrub my eyes obviously but definitely got them wet. And I sleep on my side. They recommend a sleep mask but I never used one and had no trouble at all.
@@sero0716 let me know if you end up trying them! I’ve been loving them - I can’t handle glue and my current set of these is currently on day 8. They’re so good!
@@vanessathomas399 everyone is looking for a budget friendly human hair wig so I had to show what low budget gets you sometimes 🙈 I’ll be doing a full review on this one too so everyone can see UP CLOSE 😬
@GetWiggyWithBrea agreed!! I don't pull her back at all, so I'm ok with it. She is still my favorite wig. I get compliments on Girl Mono ALL the time. I am so glad they started making large caps in this style.
Human hair wigs should be outlawed. They exploit women in third world countries who because of abject poverty are forced to do things like cut all their hair to put food on the table for the vanity of western women. The fact it’s budget friendly simply means the women probably get paid even less for the sacrifice they make for vain western women….
Hi Brea, thank you for this video! I was wondering if you can say something about natural hair and synthetic hair. I always bought natural hair wigs, I tried a couple of synthetic but there were so incredibly fake-looking and I never wear them. If I understand correctly, the wig you are wearing here is synthetic but still very natural!
@@glorias1524 of course! I have both and I can tell you there are real and fake looking synthetic AND human hair wigs. Synthetics get a bad rep because of the shininess and hairline but I’ve found that if you pick colors with high lights in the front and dull the shine a bit they look just as real as human hair. Human hair has the potential to look real but large dark knots with a bad hairline can ruin a great wig and make it look fake. I hope that all makes sense! Happy to answer more questions if you have them.
I'm both sad and glad that I found your account! Sad because I wish I could have seen your videos long before I bought some of the wigs I have. Thank you for sharing your tips and especially brunette wigs!!
Also, as a fellow curly haired lady, I've been trying to find synthetic curly wigs with a full monofilament top that's hand tied. Not sure it exists, have you found any low density, truly curly synthetic wigs out there?
Hi! Well first, thank you for being here! I love reviewing curly and wavy styles for that reason, I really do miss my full curls. This wig is the closest I have found to a curly style with a hand tied cap, but I am still on the hunt and will hopefully, find what you’re looking for soon!
I work in the clinical healthcare setting. Unprofessional? No. But sometimes people who are looking for you (patients, coworkers, etc) will search for or direct others or look for whatever makes your appearance consistent and familiar (eyeglasses, unique colored sneakers, hair color, etc) Might just take time and effort for people to not describe you by hair. I don’t mean in a judgmental way, just as an objective description. But honestly, people should know who you are by YOUR NAME and your important role in the healthcare team. And also your compassionate heart ❤
I really love this comment and completely agree with you! I would love to switch it up whenever I want to but do struggle to decide to dive right in because of the consistency and familiarity - especially if there is an emergency. I would hate for someone to miss me just because they couldnt recognize me.
I agree with your view of wigs as accessories and say go for it and don’t worry about other people’s opinions. Is there anything in your workplace attire policies regarding wigs? It feels discriminatory to limit what you can and cannot do with your hair, whether it’s growing from your scalp or not.
