I have a question. If I were to go buy a lottery ticket and predicted whatever winning numbers I want, wrote them down on a separate piece of paper. Using your magical demonstration with the same numbers I predicted, if the numbers on the cards don’t match the numbers that I’ve written down on the piece of paper will the numbers on the cards be the winning numbers?
This best performed when the justification is YOU HAVE NO TABLE TO PUT THE DECK ON. SO YOU SORT OF CRADLE THE DECK while pulling the dupe out of the wallet. Have dupe prepped with a small dab of stickum. Toss it on top of deck. Then the left hand flips what are now two stuck together, and they land upside down as one face up.
1. magicians performing this trick don't put cards behind their back 2. they show the cards are thoroughly shuffled in random alternating face up/face down during the trick conclusion: you revealed nothing, save an amateur version of some parts of the trick

Respectfully I don’t like this variation. When the performer looks through the cards and picks 2-3 at a time. Very unnatural and doesn’t logically make much sense. Kind of kills the illusion. The face down version is more believable imo. Some false riffle shuffles and cuts for the original is superior
