And lastly, one important step that a lot of beginners or people in general don’t know is if it’s a new drive, you have to format it yourself. Even if it isn’t a new drive and it’s old I would still recommend formatting it yourself so you could have the full storage potential and also it’ll also make sure that all existing information that was from the previous owner will be deleted and wipe.😊
You forgot a major part that could cause your ssd to break is by not removing the sticker on the m.2 ssd itself where it says 980PRO. Most people forget that part and that would make your temps hotter rather than better. Linus Tech Tips also said it from one of his videos

Under normal circumstances removing the label would have a negligible difference in temperature. We don't recommend removing the label as you may encounter an issue if the drive fails and you need to warranty RMA it.
Amazing video series, please keep posting! I'm buying all the parts and will start building my first gaming pc soon. Most videos I found aren't as detailed as yours. Thanks for sharing them and cheers from Brazil!
One slip from your fingers and you have a broken motherboard with no warranty. But fortunately the pins are not as weak as they look . Even if you drop your cpu from an angle the pins will not move . The problem is tou dont force the pins with the fingers after installation.
