@@EndlessEnergy I love the colors straight out of the camera, there's a flat profile too (not log though) and it makes it possible to tweak the colors even with LUTs. My favorite camera is E-P7 though as it lets you do pretty precise color grading directly in the camera, you can tweak each primary color separately as well as highs, mids and shadows. This way I can see what I am recording and set the lighting accordingly. For me as a filmmaker, it speeds up the process and helps me to be more creative. Surely I could achieve similar results in post-production, creating masks, motion track and so on, but it would take far more time and effort.
you have interesting take on exposure because to me all the shoot look like acceptable over-exposure... maybe that makes tests look a bit worse than real life usage suggests. but still on your own real world tests i did not feel it at all. i wonder how sharp in the corners is my kipon booster.
@@EndlessEnergy im in a process of buying 45mm mamiya so will see. i suspect it will be a bit better probably but thing here is that 45 and especially 35mm is softer towards the edges naturally. when 45mm arrives i will check that compared to 80mm and that should give us some clues.
@@ZachSmith-qr8qp Precisely, I can't really recall how I set it up but I do remember that it was way less fiddly than when flying analog VTX. Plug and play, DJI O3 never failed me. I think I've lost video signal only once!
I have both the s24u and z60u I very rarely shoot videos. But the camera the nubia takes the cake in 90% of time. Plus the battery life is insane and it has an uninterrupted display with no camera cutout for half the price of Samsung. This phone is amazing and so underrated.
i have a whole set of mamiyas and have learned so far that the main difference is that first gut feeling you get. “oh this feels nice” vs “oh this looks nice”
@@EndlessEnergy i got the 2.8. The 1.9 is way too hard to find without haze and other issues. And for video i’m going to live around 2.8-4 anyway so didn’t feel the need.
@@EndlessEnergy yep i was able to fill out my set for the price of just that lens haha. I like the 35mm and 45mm the best anyway 80 is too tight for me
Thanks a lot for the video, very interesting!! :) I want to ask you, in mcpro24fps do you think is better to disable "Sharpening" and "noise reduction"? What do you recommend?
I'm working on the next one. Don't really want to force a regular schedule unless I have something i really want to talk about 🙏 Next one coming soon, I promise!
This might be first time i comment on a yt video.just enjoyed it till the end....do this with phone that are rated for camera like pixels and sumsung s series.sumsung s23 personal request ❤.
hey you deserve an sub ;) I like these kind of videos please add an budget range of phones like nothing phone 2a Samsung s21 fe in that way we can know that we need to spend a lot for mobile cameras
I would gladly do it, but I don't plan on buying those phones. This topic popped out organically, I made a phone upgrade after 3 years and unexpectedly Nubia turned out to be quite a beast. TLDR: I got lucky 😅
Jako prijatan glas, koncizan tekst, odlican edit, bravo. Uzivanje i gledati i slusati.
Hey, I used something like Joby gorilla pod and tied it around my neck with the camera pointing downwards. It was shot almost 10 years ago so I don't have any photos of the rig 🥲
Sadly people will watch this and think gh6 is insane. But is it? I see gh6 as a toy that provide great imagery whereas fx3 is a workhorse that can shoot nearly everything (from sport to lowlight, even movies) without rolling shutter and af working in every frame rate. There is a reason why panasonic did not put it up the fx3 pricing and also gh6 keep having insane sales. It is not selling. I also come from mft but sony FF is more affordable these days.
FX3 is still my main camera but I could make due with gh6 if I had to. But that's the whole point -> "If I HAD to". Sony is still the best overall camera under 10k. Bottom line I agree with you!
@@EndlessEnergyhere is the thing too, this camera is for people starting out when considering it price right? but there is nothing else to grow after? Panasonic abandon its eva1 line :( and fx30 is at the same price with better dynamic range and a full eco-system to grow with if you are starting out. my fx30 is my b-cam and if i were to start again, i would just get two of these and be able to do 99% of a beginners work. Also Business wise its just impossible to justify getting mft these days seeing how 3rd party glass with af @f1.2-4 are selling around 300-400$
@loudmotion5639 I can't really agree on that, I've used fx30 on the set and I prefer GH6. Its 4:3 5.7k BRAW open gate is a killer feature with anamorphic lenses. Also growing part of the business comes from skill, story, and capturing the moment. I think that we have become a little bit too obsessed with specs.
There is no big difference in detail, it's the depth of field. I shot Meike at T2.2 while sony was at F4, which means that meike was around 5.6 Full-frame equivalent when it comes to DOF. So this was sloppiness on my part. I assure you, detail wise, they are indistinguishable. Sony does win in Low light, dynamic range and bokeh department (full-frame) advantage 🙃
I recently bought one of these and had to return it. While it's a great product the amplification of the lenses natural characteristics because of the speedbooster made the image unusable for my purposes. There was a lot of haze and fuzz even though my lens was pretty good quality. I ended up just using the regular adapter without the speedbooster and the image was a lot more crisp. I would only use a speedbooster with these lenses if I was getting them rehoused - I believe they do some work to the glass to get them to the optimum quality for speedboosting.
This is definitely not for everyone. Especially if you need crisp & sharp wide establishing shots, on the other hand for shooting interviewies and portraits in feauture films it does a great job. Rehousing process in no way tampers with the glass, it merely rehouses the lens and preserves its original performance 👍
That was a fun video. I wanted a fx3 but I ended up with a gh6. I'm happy. I wish it was smaller. But I'm a video guy first and I wish I could find a comparison of the video settings. Cool thing about the gh6 is all the weird boost options and tripod hand stabilization stuff that I thought I'd never use but I do!
Ye, it boasts top notch IBIS. Especially true in tripod mode! Generally people tend to prefer GH6 over almost any camera you pit it against, maybe its because of it being an underdog pricewise or its just that good of a camera. As for the size, GH4 was considerably smaller and I still like the bigger form factor of the GH6 (feels better in the hand)... personal preference I guess.
Love the Mamiya 45mm! Been using it adapted to my GFX 50S II. Been looking at the Irix 45mm F1.4, but holding off for now. Excited to see more people get into FF cameras, I doubt Sony ever will but it would be impressive to see them push the limits and other manufacturers.
I almost bought GFX 100 II, if it weren't for those silly crops ... But I get it, it's probably bleeding edge tech and the price is more than fair so we have to wait it out :) I'm gonna take a look at Irix 45mm f1.4, sounds fun!
For the price GH6 does a nuts good job. Sony has advantage on low light capabilities for sure but I’ll hang toyt with my gh6 and make a new decision in another year or two.
