Great insight , have subscribed . QQ- I have a HM 4 weeks before M. How would you pace this ? Would it be an issue recovery wise if I ran the HM 10 seconds faster than MP? Thanks
Your a special person mate , and an excellent example to follow , all these major changes came from inside you !! So proud of your development and excited to see what’s next !!
Coach, that was extremely insightful. May your content gets a wide reach. Can you give a little bit of advice on what can i do better in my marathon training? I will start my 3:50 marathon training soon. I have planned to do 4 runs in a week with 2 easy runs, 1 threshold run and 1 long run which will be a bit on the steady pace side instead of full easy pace. Is it good or should I add or subtract something?
Sounds like a nice enough balance. Just never under estimate the power of easy running. We often try and put a lot of faster or steady work in the week, but the easy runs really help and can often help you to do a little bit more volume
Hi, I`ve been struggling with Calf & Achilles niggles/injuries since last October which, had started to settle till I upped the hill work as LL100 prep. Balancing the load to fit in the rehab work makes total sense, love the content and now subscribed.
Thanks again this was awesome! I'm running on Sunday and am having those jitters about 'knowing' what pace to run so the discussion about that was really valuable. The quote 'respect the marathon but don't be scared of it', the fact she goes through tough spots but gets through them, goes a bit fast and then corrects herself, and the advice about trusting feel and checking in with 5k splits...all really great advice that is going to help me on Sunday, thank you
Great video. I struggle with negative splits I just ran 2:48:55 at Brighton which was very windy. Apart from slowing a couple of seconds per mile towards the end I ran pretty bang on even splits. My worry with running negative splits is a fear that even if I was to run 20 miles easy I would struggle to pick the pace up for the last 6.
Definitely the most common worry/thought process Matthew, so you're not alone. Once you try it and nail it, you will never look back. Trust the process as they say. Well done in Brighton 😊
Been really looking forward to this one and it didn’t disappoint, great to hear how Tom prepares for his year ahead 👍 good luck at the weekend 💪 and thanks for another excellent podcast Lewis 👏👏👏
I really enjoyed that thanks Lewis. I've got a copy of Richard's book, and listening to this podcast has definitely encouraged me to delve a bit deeper into it.
I joke about the fisherman's friends, but seriously useful info, thanks. I have an evening marathon in Kent in July and the starting temperature is usually around 25 degrees, I will try some of this stuff before race day!
