Had great times as a kid at south end air show, used to love the Harriet jump jet landing on the water, Peter pan’s amusement park was great to back in the day
My Father was a green twenty year old when he was in the RAF in the early fifties he had never been in a aeroplane in his life and the first time he did was on a ten hour coastal patrol in a Lancaster ( lucky bugger!)
& to get those, two Tornados, flying past at FULLCHAT!!!! wings, swept back fur full speed, to show how aircraft has, changed, from.the, MAGNIFICENT SPITFIRE, HURRICANE & LANCASTER to the, ALMIGHTY low level attack aircraft of the TORNADO ( M. R. C, A ) Multi role ombat aircraft as it was better know. ( by some or many) A AWESOME!!! aircraft it's own right itself) But, I think. our heartswill. ALWAYS, belong to this, BEAUTIFUL & MAGNIFICENT ww2 aircraft of yesteryear, ( as, they say) Let's, hope they NEVER, EVER STOP. flying for us, to enjoy & our grandchildren & our great grandchildren etc, etc etc to follow us in our GREATEST PLEASURE!!! for many, many, many years, to come.
ABSOLUTELY AWESOME!!! to see one, of these, BEAUTIFUL & MAGNIFICENT aircraft still flying because there are people willing to make as, much time & create, as, much 💕❤ in the restoration of doing their up most best in keeping them airworthy. As hundreds of thousands of people ❤💕 to see & hear these AWESOME & MAGNIFICENT aircraft fly by at airshowe. Just a, real shame we, don't get to see & hear several. fly by at one, go just usually the one. But the, sound of those PURRING (not roaring) MERLIN engine's simply cannot be beaten when it comes to engine, EVER!!!!
Not many genuine wishes come true, but as a 10 year old boy i remember being devastated after the final flight in 93, incidentally a day after my birthday, and that was my wish when i blew out the candles. Despite all the naysayers and people who didn't believe, who'd of thought it would ever come true. That 10 year old boy is now 35 and gets no less excited or teary eyed when i watch these videos back.
The raid was a war crime and a complete failure: www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/6033603/Bomber-Harris-thought-the-Dambusters-attacks-on-Germany-achieved-nothing.html
