My mom is an Asl interpreter and I've always wanted to learn. Now at my job I have a lot of deaf or HoH customers come in and I feel super embarrassed that I can't communicate with them and give them that joy of connection. Now I am on the journey to learn! Your videos are amazing!
I have been trying to sign up for a sign language class at our local college/university and it’s always full years in advance. I was told by an educator that a lot of kids take it as a second language thinking that it will be easier than a spoken language which just isn’t true. I have generations of deaf family members and hate how they are isolated at family functions that they come to that they can’t get out of.
