Eddie cuts loose in Fire like I love! It's those fast tempo's where he really shines in this video. Honestly I was disappointed in how he approached the Zep and first Hendrix tunes. I can hear in my head how that effortless phrasing would sound....maybe this afternoon's practice will have a half hour of jamming over this video....This is from a guy who has spent his whole musical journey focused on Eddie's phrasing genius. Eddie is an absolute beast on that fast Fire tempo! I wish he'd done more of these varied lineup shows. Like with Toto-you guys have to check out Falling in Between-and that more "funky" rock style. Love Eddie RIP the GOAT!
I dreamed about Eddie last night. We were eating cheeseburgers sitting at a counter in a diner. Somewhere. He didn’t say anything but he chowed down and had the biggest smile!
I wonder if that's the Black Wolfgang used in the Balance🎸 Album art w/ the egg or the same one as in the Best of Volume 1, back sleeve....😯 Very cool video, thanks for posting👍
no he was good great sometimes especially with sammy years like live without a net he was brilliant....but Lukather is years ahead even malmsteen would have blow him away if he had the same machine behind him and a similar record label
This is great. Am I wrong to-think Lukather & Billy should do a record together? Everyone is killing. I wish Eddie had done more side projects besides Star Fleet Project.
Eddie and Luke are both wold class players but each in their own style. I think Luke’s style is more versatile and ‘yacht rock’. Both are mostly self-educated. Who’s better? Dunno. I love them both for their qualities and I think music is no competition.
Thank you 2 of my favorite guitarist I play so that's what I watch for Steve and Eddie are great friends this is the first video of them together so fn 😎 so thank you for sharing this I do know the Van Halen video in fresno was cleaned up in the last couple years fyi but I'll take this I have to watch it now take the pause off 😊
o my F god what was that??? i cant be the only one who hears how awful this guitar tone is and how far off key Sheehan is when he comes in on bass. This has to be a goof. I cant imagine that 3 seasoned revered musicians dont notice it either.
Eddie had that ELVIS effect on other peoples music ,,once he plays it it becomes His Music. Steve Lukather is awesome on this Concert . this is the Van Halen 3rd Dimension ...Daveless and no Sammy .
If you're not crying at the end there's something wrong with you. Eddie was the true meaning of the word HERO. A heart of gold who never bragged or even talked the stuff he did. If Jason hadn't posted this nobody would have known. We all miss you, Eddie. You're forever the King.
WHAT AN ABSOLUTE GEM!!! Steve Lukather AND Eddie Van Halen, playing Jimi Hendrix’s Little Wing, probably my favourite Jimi track!! You could make this sh*t up!!
This was at the Riviera Theatre in Chicago. A ton of people played, I can't even remember them all there were so many, but I never forgot these guys closing the show. It was amazing and I feel fortunate to have been there.
How similar they sounded Ed and Luke with same intentions ,Ed used tapping licks and Luke alternate picking were they were a little bit different but phrasing its almost the same somehow ,they were on same level, through Luke after outgrown Ed with all kinds of playings and sounds he aquire and rised his tehnique even more to become probably best player with the best feel cause nobody is approaching that fuickin' guitar like Steve Lukather
