One of the differences between the regular and the Tournament Edition is that the Tournament Edition can swap out the two 24mm buttons (the Start and Select buttons) as well...
The ‘Standard Madcatz SFIV fight stick’ was a GREAT buy for the price,as long as you invest in a Sanwa stick & Sanwa buttons(or Horri stick/buttons depending on your preferred brand)because the parts that come with it are cheap & poor quality in comparison to Sanwa parts!I’ve had my Sanwa modded standard stick for over 12 years(basically since the sticks were released)of constant use & with the REALLY easy to mod Sanwa parts it still works perfectly & I’ve used this stick LOTS as a 2d fighting lover & being Sanwa parts they should really last a lifetime & modding it yourself is SUPER EASY & it comes about £100 at least cheaper than the TE stick which comes with Sanwa stick & buttons already fitted so it really depends on whether you don’t mind spending an extra £100 for basically just a heavier more sturdy feeling stick or save some cash & go for the standard fightstick + the buying of a quality stick/buttons separately which only adds about £20 tops, either way their both quality fightsticks! Just a heads up for any of the around 2 people who’s thinking of buying a 360/PS3 arcade fighting stick in 2021 lol🤷🏽♂️✌🏽🏴
Forgive me for bumping an old comment, but this is actually pretty insightful! I been thinking about picking up a stick, since I feel like my current 360 controller is having issues with inputting motions I did not intend, and I figured since I'm still inexperienced with fighting games, learning stick wouldn't be that bad of a set back. Funnily enough, I been seeing a fair bit of these models used for sale, and been thinking these would be a good jumping point. Glad to know all I REALLY need to do is replace the buttons and lever! Thanks for posting this, really does help give me better ideas on what to look for!
@@kaaz5584 Hey,no problem m8.The parts that I got & which were tailor made for a toddler to mod’,if you just YT SEARCH-“Mad Catz standard edition arcade stick,Sanwa mod’ video”, is ‘Sanwa OBSF-30’ buttons(you’ll probably want to get 8 of them obviously) & a ‘Sanwa JLF-TP-8YT-SK’ stick.I also bought an octagon gate(which I’m very glad I did),which I switched with the square gate because my move inputs are more accurate with the octagon gate but that’s really a personal preference type thing but you can’t go wrong with getting one,as the square gate comes as standard with the stick,so buying an octagon gate gives you the choice, once you find out what suits you best & they are very cheap, since they are just a piece of plastic. I bought the stick,8 buttons & an octagon gate for under £40s easy but I really don’t know how much these parts sell for today but regardless,it gives the standard SFIV stick an arcade perfect quality feel,as they are the exact same parts that the arcade & TE edition have installed & they will last you decades.
street fighter iv udon comics are awesome :D i have never seen other comic book adaptation that better adapted style and climate of franchise plus art style is beautiful and detailed
upgrade it to sanwa parts its like 40 bucks.. its what 40 bucks for that stick? 80 bucks total.. or pay 150+ for the tournament edition that comes stock
the regular fightstick blows. my joystick went out so i took out the washer and fixed it.. but then just decided to upgrade it and replaced it with all sanwa parts works well now was only about 40 bucks to upgrade/parts
Ryu fan since playing SF2 in arcades but theres no way ryu can beat kakarot he didnt even turn into a super saiyan, looks like he only used the ko-ken attack
The Tournament Edition uses Sanwa parts. The Arcade one is a piece of shit. I have one, 3 of the buttons fail intermittently, they stick on themselves, the joystick is so loose and has way too much play. They completely cheaped out on the white one.
@wordyeaux its not possible to make them flat I make fight sticks myself and the joystick goes really deep into the fight stick not to mention the buttons go pretty deep into the box as well
