This is what happens when you fall for the extreme right wing '' small government'' bs . Sounds good ,right? Who likes gov and taxes ? But what it really means is defunding ordinary people , defund the working class . It really means wealth being moved from the lower classes to the wealthy . This is unthinkable in my wee nation Scotland which already has its wealth stolen and moved to London . Health care is a human right not a privilege or a market for scumbags to profit from . Solidarity to all americans suffering from this .

I knew Bob and Clint personally for many years they helped me when I was in my late 30s for absolutely never a dollar I spent many hours with Bob after meetings in a sponsorship role and he saved my life don't believe any of that s***

Just because you don't beleive it doesn't make it untrue. I'm more inclined to beleive the numerous people who spoke here than to beleive you. No offense. I'm an addict. I've been to treatment. I've seen how people can be. My judgement is that Bob is all of the things these people say.

1:22:34 This is a question I still have at 39. As a teenager going to hang out with friends my dad would remind me that “it’s in my genes” so it’s better to just not drink at all. I remember feeling like “I am my own person!” Just bc she (my mom) did it doesn’t mean I will. Then I did struggle for a bit in my early-lateish 30’s but I’m better now but regardless my entire teenage and adult life I have had this cloud hanging over me about drinking alcohol and it’s just not right. Like, I could NEVER tell my parents about a fun night I had out (21+) if it involved drinking, even if nothing happened. Idk it’s hard to explain unless you’ve been in this situation he’s talking about.

Very good documentary. People would be amazed at how many rehabilitation centers have absolutely nothing to do with helping people.

i stayed in a group in Atlanta in the early 2000's , thinking it was called crossroads or pathfinders or something..... a man had rented a bunch of apartments, mostly off North Druid Hills , took you in and basically put you into servitude to work off the debt incurred. sound familiar to anyone ??

After watching this and having survived 20 years in a church cult - being abused and abusing - and having spent a long time researching cults - I feel like creating a whole educational program for parents and kids on the red flags of a cult and just how incredibly destructive it is to one’s psychological, spiritual and even physical self and how to set strong boundaries.

Realizing that I definitely attended some programs like this as a teen but my mom pulled me from several places. I remember them saying my parents shouldn’t give me a curfew on school nights as long as they knew where I was. lol that was enough for my mom but still today outpatient is very similar. Off to go down a bob meehan/clint rabbit hole, I go.

This group, turned into pathways. I think pathways is still operating. Is there something that can be made into a criminal case? I am asking this question because if there is evidence, and they are still operating, obviously they should not be operating. They were, at least alive and well here within the past two to four years In AZ Could the government at least get them on some tax charges or fraud or something? I would encourage people to come out even more, if there is any personal testimony of crimes. Even in AA it seems maybe that something shouldn't be revealed, even if it is a crime, because its doing a fourth and fifth step, that has been a debate, a loud debate A crime is a crime is a crime. And, if in recovery in general, you don't have to keep secrets just because someone is another group member, or seems more esteemed. Just in case you didn't know that. And, you do have the power to stay sober on your own. And, you can also just smoke pot and not do other things, not even abusing or misusing pot, not even not drinking, by choice. As objective as I can be of my personal words. For better or worse, the program, whatever group that is, Is really, a mental, suggestion. There is not a one solution fits all, or one solution fits a lot, or one solution even helps a majority. Put aside alcohol and drugs, humans have similar psychology and problems, all if our uniqueness or anything else is from being an addict. An addict is a description not a human species classification. And, there is no medical evidence to support agreed upon recovery and big book writing. Im just letting you know in case you didn't. There are other good people out in the world whether drug addicts or not. You're life is unique. Nobody else knows your exact perspective and they don't know where you're life is going to go. You may not be questioning the program simply because of what every one around you is telling you why you are You have the power of choice. Of course drugs are physically addicting, they make bad periods of life worse, But that doesn't make you an addict A LOT of people are stupid all through their twenties, and into their thirties , and would not do the same things they did then. That doesn't make you an addict either. I'm pretty sure someone will see this video hopefully or see this comment and relate. I sat in meetings watching people in their twenties maybe being derailed from life, by having a permanent label, even if it is ultimately self placed.

Food for thought. This is just a more raw and targeted to kids version of the same crap the recovery "industry" shoves down people's throats. You are powerless, submit to group think, join our club and write us a check. Everyone has the power to be sober. If it's dangerous to get clean? Taper. If you need a cushion, see a Dr. Hell if you need a social club for support, more power to you. Just don't let anyone convince you it's out of your control.

I'm about 30 minutes into this documentary and while I can see some cult-like influences in these drug programs, this place was actually a cupcake joint compared to some other childcare programs I can think of or was in. This place is mild and harmless compared to some others. Right off the bat, I Can tell you to look into Michael DeSisto at Lake Grove School or Matthew Israel at Judge Rotenberg Center for a much crazier story than this.
