It’s just crazy to think about how dangerous milk used to be.. stuff like this milk acid neutralizer and before pasteurization Bovine tuberculosis transferred through milk was a massive cause of tuberculosis. If you know folks buying raw milk please let them know about the tuberculosis risk. I have latent tb (we’re not sure where I got from but only drank pasteurized milk so ya know. Not the milk but still) and I will probably have latent tb for the rest of my life as it’s incredibly difficult to fully eradicate from the body
So glad they addressed this here as well it’s important to hear. I didn’t have the bone damage thank goodness that’s from extremely long untreated tb I got incredibly lucky and my body walled off the disease relatively early on I generally just have some lung damage and could have active tb flare ups for life. Everytime I get a cough it’s terrifying cause I could give this to my husband or son and I run in frantically for an X-ray. Thank goodness it’s never been active tb again yet.

Interesting thing to note about trebuchets. If they are balanced correctly, they shouldn't continue swinging after the projectile is loose. In the example they had, the weight was higher than the projectile needed. They could have used a heavier projectile if the armature would allow. The simpler solution is to take some mass out of the counterweight. They would see about the same distance - if not a little more - and less swing equates to a faster reset.
Best experience: set playback speed to 1.5 and set audio playback to mono to kill the stereo image thereby reducing the loudness of the meaningless music.
Whenever you feel down about yourself, just remember, you’re descended from people who survived all of this, and they were descendants of people who survived even worse than what we’re hearing about in this video. Absolutely insane and mind boggling when you think about it. I also wonder how many modern day genetic diseases or defects are from our ancestors managing to survive all of this but still having their DNA altered by one thing or the other… really interesting to think about!

The Mistrals are good modestly sized LPH/LPDs, though whether France was justified in building three to help Paris continue playing its fantasy "still a great global power" game instead of maintaining fully France's now hollowed out land forces, is another matter. Either way, we British, whose core national defence really does require a far bigger RN and RAF, should certainly NEVER agree instead to increase our land forces deployments to Europe while France, the defence of which does need 1st and foremost a bigger army, has actually cut back on key land capabilities.
Yes people and the United States government were fearful that the Soviets would have satellites that could send Atomic missiles on to the United States not unlike what the United States did to Japan. Satellites weren't needed, the government gave the task to the British to see if they could break through the air defences, four out of 5 bombers simulated dropping nuclear bombs on US cities including the capital all but one bomber returned home, the 5th was intercepted by US fighters.

They said they lost the technology to return to the moon... At 1/4 gravity, you still need a few thousand metric tons of fuel. Maybe the people already there assisted with fuel / kicked the humans out. FYI Trump put NASA in the military but it has always been a part of the military. its almost a carbon copy of the united states navy's LHA class ships built in the late 70's and since been replaced by the LHD class amphibious assault ships which handle the LCAC hovercrafts. so id say the french navy needs to look up "state of the art" cuz that ship aint even close. sorry french guys, good try though. btw, where would you ever actually perform an amphibious landing? upon who? lmao

These creepy US documentary voices that drawl out such an attitude of concealed patronising hate for their subjects just make my skin crawl. Impossible to listen to unless you're already conditioned to them. Really not convinced the American revolution was such a great thing after all. Certainly not good for the Indian Tribes.
It is not just important how to understand how a technology works. We have to understand the path and history it took to get there. That is why history of technology is always important to discuss and teach to give us context. Technology and ideas didn't just sprung up it slowly evolved over centuries of painstaking discoveries and accidents
