Very clever and nice engineering! Here in the US we never see people launch boats off the beach like that, very creative solution!

before the dogpile starts on my leader management, yes, they are too long for a small boat 😉 And the old fixed cam is a Hero 3 Black, long past retirement date.

What about the swing down tire support? Did you fabricate it or purchase it?
@ralphblundell9479
@ralphblundell9479 Год назад
I purchased that, not hard to come by. Maybe from Martins Trailer Parts? They can be adjusted to fully down, or half way down. I am actually using the extension right now, up at the place shown in the video. Works great, no issues so far.

Hey people, just an update. The replacement slide handle part that arrived from Rupp is indeed stainless steel, a nicely machined part which replaces the original plastic. Thumbs up to Rupp for recognising a weak link in the original design and upgrading the replacement part.

Where did you buy the “travel mount” and “ pivot pin” this is exactly what I want to build but I’m having a hard time finding the parts
@ralphblundell9479
@ralphblundell9479 Год назад
hey Anthony, I welded those brackets up myself, as well as the actual extension. The pins are 19mm hitch pins, available from any trailer parts store. So the bought hardware was the u-bolts to secure it all, the hitch itself, and the pins. Everything else I built myself.

That was the September school holidays. September on the upper west coast is a really mixed bag, either howling winds or beautiful. We are lcky enough to be only about 4 hours drive away, so I just look at Windy, if it looks like 3 good days, we go :-)

Home lagoon. Towards the bottom end of the fishing zone. South side of that island is the north boundary of the sanctuary zone.

Hi Mark. Some people have gotten really edgy about a previous idea I had about doing a video on safe ways to access and use the place, like they think its a big secret and needs preserving for the illuminati and charter operators only. :-) I just wanted people to do it safely. So I'll sum it up by saying the the whole trip really revolves around getting out there, and back, safely. Water can get really nasty on the trip out there, if you have fresh breeze blowing against a tide. Add the fact that the boat is often overloaded with camping gear and extra fuel, and you have a recipe for disaster. Living in Karratha, you have the great advantage of being close , so you can wait until a good weather window opens up for a week. Once out there, weather is not really a problem. Just a matter of picking where and how you want to camp, bearing in mind that some of those big bays dry out completely , so you will want to be anchoring in the deep water close to their entrances. So you just need to decide whether you are going to do it from Dampier , around 70nm by sea, or drive down to Cape Preston and launch , 100ks of road and 48nm of sea.

Hi Ralph, thanks for that mate. I had no idea about the bays drying out.. ill bear that in ind too .. I think that would be a great idea to do a video about the Islands .. I think sharing the knowledge is what humans are meant to do .. But like all facets of our lives .. a small minority control the rest of us by not sharing.. Because it suits their agenda.. (Bit Deep for this time in the AM ) Ive had a look on Google Earth to try and work out the best camping spot etc and areas that are good for diving etc.. gonna be a suck it and see mission . I would leave from Dampier and hopefully the weather window stays open to get out and back. Really looking forward to it to be honest . If you have any tips mate please message me ..save the illuminati getting all hot and bothered ;)

Thanks, that was a while ago now. Yes, it was in Western Australia, out of Perth. I still have the bike, but haven't been on that run last couple of years due to work commitments.
