This is a treasure. This getleman is and was one of the great . I remember see him racing and was very soft with the car and fast to win or are on first 6. Great video. My regards
Agree, Mr.Derek Bell, and Mr.Norbert Singer, True legends in this magnificient era of the Endurance Racing, great interview Mr Alex Brundle. Thank you Historic Group C.
I have had the privilege of being out on the track with Bill Hawe with his Jagermeister 962, along with having had the chance to talk to him about the car and to see the car without its front and rear body work. It is an artful piece of engineering. It is wonderful to see these iconic machines doing what they were made to do, and here’s to the people who make that possible. As for the video, wonderful. And the comment about driving the car 14:28 “…you just have to know what you are doing…” about says it all, from a master at work. Thanks for posting.
I love watching these guys still able to put a lap together and be articulate in all the small manerisms that are required to appreciate something of this magnitude. All of the older people who I've met in motorsport had something extra keeping them alive and going for so long and it keeps me passionate about hanging in there to still enjoy racing and all that it can bring to life.
Derek Bell in a 962, what could be sweeter? The #14 Lowenbrau was my favorite Porsche 962 when he was racing here in the USA. I also have his book written by Alan Henry "Derek Bell, My Racing Life", that he signed in 1990 at the Daytona 24.
I met Derek Bell on my first visit to Silverstone on May 8th 1983 for the 1000km race when he was sharing the Rothmans Porsche with Stefan Belloff. They won the race, and for some reason I found myself in the pit lane walking alongside Belloff as he was walking down to meet Bell as he finished the race. I will always regret not speaking to Belloff, great days!
Fantastic trip down memory lane. I’ve had the pleasure of meeting a number of my childhood racing heroes. Always thought Derek was one of the greatest ambassadors the sport could ask for and the sort of bloke you’d like to share a pint with at the pub.
Rothmans liveries are some of the best put on any racing car, in any series.. But what if someone, somewhere, suddenly wants to smoke a cigarette because of seeing it?!?!?!
I remember back in the early/mid 80's as a member of the young farmers THE LEDGION Dereck Bell giving a talk about his career. It was mind blowing with how he told it and what he had done. Something I will never forget. Thank you for showing.
Some fantastic videos coming from this channel. Thankyou for putting them together and sharing with those of us who will never get the opportunity to drive one of these legends 👍🏻
I had the pleasure to do a karting event with Alex and Nick Hamilton down in Thurrock about 8 years ago. Alex was in a pink set of overalls and so slim. We really didn't stand a chance, on weight alone. Skill levels were not even discussed.
This is my new favorite channel - Group C - I live it - I love it - keep em coming - got yerself a lifetime membership from me and as many likes as I can muster
