This is incredible work you ladies did. Wow ❤ I can't understand the lack of views. You deserve sooooo much more! Thank you for sharing you processes and your lovely rug.
I used some logs to make it stand up from the ground, and then glued two thinner round sticks to the logs. Above the round sticks, there are two thinner logs with hooks, where the yarn can hang :-) I recommend checking out Tuft The World’s tutorial on how to bulld a frame, I think they show it there
It came out stunning. I wanted to ask, how durable are these knowing that they’re going to be hanging on the wall and not just being stationary on the ground? I don’t know if I am making my question understandable
Thank you! Hmm, good question. I haven’t seen what happens with these mirror over time, due to I’ve just been tufting for (soon) 2 years. But I think, if you use enough durable glue - they’re gonna be durable for years. They probably stay in better shape than most rugs, due to not being exposed to «foot traffic». Hope my answer makes sense haha
Olá...Boa noite aqui no sol do Sul do Brasil e tenho acompanhado alguns videos seus...fico encantado com seu trabalho e a didática dos mesmos. Obrigado. Trabalho com tapeçaria em teares mas as pessoas me pedem tugting então extou me a mentira nessa nova técnica e trabalho...escolhe entre alguns seus trabalhos. Danilo Rossi .
Thank you! I use primary tufting cloth, this grey one is from www.tuftinggun.com. I also use the cloth from www.tuftinglove.com. The yarn is for 4mm knitting needles. ☺️
Love the rug and good job on repairing the hole. I do punch needle and haven't run into any holes yet, but your fix is something I will certainly be keeping in the back of my mind for when it eventually happens. Do you think it would be possible to repair the hole like how socks are darned?
Thank you! I've seen some videos, (for example one from AJ Makes on RU-vid), where they sort of "weave" the fabric back to getter. Haven't tried that method yet :-)
Hey I don’t usually see this question posted much. But for this specific rug, how much tarn did you use in total. For example It looks about 45x60” large. If you add all the yarn together (blue 4yrds, black 1yrd) what would be your total? Thank you in advance
Hi! This rug was 1,21 x 1,16 meters, and I think I used at least 30-50 skeins of yarn. I don’t quite remember. I usually think I use 2 skeins for each 30 centimeters, maybe. I usually buy a bit more yarn than I think I will use, just to make sure it’s enough. It’s quite hard to know how much yarn you will use for a rug, because it depens on how close your tufted lines are, thickness of the thread and how many details, etc. But after a while you sort of get a trained eye for how much yarn you need :-)
