Only people who don't know how to receive spiritual gifts are excited by this imbalanced teaching, the last few chapters of 1 Corinthians are dedicated to spiritual gifts because the church was becoming ignorant, if you don't have a spiritual gift then rethink your faith

Everything you are saying is good about using understanding but what you are saying about tongues is unscriptural and heretic, scripture actually says when you pray in tongues your spirit prays and your mind is unfruitful, stop encouraging lazy people to lean on their understanding, rather encourage then to pray both with tongues and with understanding as scripture says

Thank you so much sister Well one thing i believe is that even praying in an understandable language doesn't mean one heart is connected to God, you see i also believe that it's the heart in which one goes to God with and people tend to think praying in tongues is to fullfill all righteousness and just to show off that you pray mean while nobody ever talks about people who prays normally but it's filled with empty word that they don't actually mean. And she talks about praying while one mind wonder around when that is actually as a result of ones daily activities which your mind brings back to you once you are in a quiet place that can happen or will happen either praying in tongues or not people pray in with understandable words and will still chart and do other things so attributing that behavior only to when speaking in tongues is not true at all and do we judge one sincerity in The place of prayer by speaking in normal language or tongue? Because i believe just as we are different individually that's how God deals with us individually and our hearts differs

I beg to differ it all depends on how you pray the more deeper you pray the are words that cannot be uttered by normal language in Zulu we call it ukububula going beyond normal prayer we all pray differently and God is the only one who knows our needs and wants I don't say there are those who don't act even praying in normal language kunabantu abavele bakhuleke becwase abantu ngemikhuleko yabo (please forgive my writing in zulu my English flew out the window) it all depends on how you pray it doesn't matter how whether, you cry/speak/laugh God is the only one who knows what is happening that moment when you pray the Holy Spirit touches us differently let's not judge how people pray

@@KoinoniaTV2read my comment again I'm not being biased I watched the video as I said it depends on how you and how deep you go pouring your heart to God not every who prays in tongue are acting, there are people who pray in native language but when you listen to what they are saying is pure evil, it all depends on how you pray I can pray in native language while I speak garbage and my heart in not in what I'm saying I'm doing it to show off that I know scriptures but my heart is spewing evil but you find people screaming Jesus's name oh yes Lord all those words we use but that prayer comes from carnality to spiritual hence the Bible teaches us to pray and ask for descending spirit so you can tell if the person praying is acting or pouring out their hearts to God

Maybe in your church they do that , understanding and also in tongues, Paul says I pray in tongues more than you, so what do you say about that and many have prayed in tongues and power has been generated most pastors they say it has worked for them and it works a lot for me too ,I respect your concern but tongues are more powerful than your understanding it's the spirit itself that prays on our behalf our minds profit us nothing ,what you can suggest is that people must train their minds to focus while praying in tongues , praying in understanding takes you a short time and yu run out of words so tongues kick in at that time especially for me so thankyou

That's the exact problem you've failed to notice. Praying in tongues has been abused. I am sure you don't even know why the gift was given or how it is to be used by the way you replied to the video. Clearly you didn't listen to her.. Listening is indeed a skill and Jesus did counsel us to mind how we hear She has not said anything is wrong with tongues, her point is that your whole being needs to be in your prayer when you pray and that tongues can sometimes distract you from achieving that, so what do you do Pray in your understanding, it will help you get back to focus faster

Thank you so much for this. I feel I was led to watch this video. Even though I've been praying genuinely while speaking words that I understand, I believe that God has still transformed my heart and even those around me through these prayers. I also believe in the power of tongues and so I always wished to be able to pray in tongues but to first have appropriate knowledge of it and not to misuse it. This is why I wait on good to give me this gift when He deems it necessary. But yesterday, because I prayed along with someone who prayed genuinely in tongues, I just felt like .. Ohh I want to speak in tongues no matter what.. but today I learn that it's all about the fervency and sincerity of out hearts when we come to God and not what we sound like ❤

It always makes me wonder how christians view many prophets as ones that openly sinning and not repenting. Aren't prophets supposed to be people chosen and given revelation by the God? But they openly sinning and not repenting, did God not revealed to those prophets that what they did is a sin? And those chosen people did not repent? Either they are not prophets, or the stories of them sinning are fabricated, or the law saying they are sinning itself is wrong

I would have liked to have seen you dive more into examples of polygamy in the Old Testament rather than writing them off as "we look down on Solomon for having multiple wives". Our definition of marriage today culturally is not the same as the biblical definition of marriage. The bible defined marriage as a woman leaving her family to be joined with a man, and consecration through sex. No legal recognition, no government approval, no ceremony, no piece of paper. Chastity was a woman's honor, and it was everything for being married. That's why in Judaic law, if a woman was r@ped, the perpetrator had to marry her if she so chose. Her marital options became void, and she could at the least choose to be taken care of, as gruesome as it sounds. In our culture today, Christians strive for purity but often give themselves away and then marry another. Are they not living in adultery? Because they became one with another. Examples of polygamy would entail Jacob, David, Solomon, etc etc, all godly men, and we don't see them condemned for multiple wives. If anything, especially pertaining to Jacob, we as Christians APPLAUD his perseverance and patience in working for Rachel after her father gave him Leah. We don't say, "He should have stopped at one wife." Jesus said, "let one man leave his father and mother and be united with his wife and the two will become one flesh", which could certainly be taken to mean ONLY one man with ONLY one woman. But what if that's just the definition of marriage between those two, and that same man being joined to another virgin woman would be another marriage between those two. And that's polygamy, multiple marriages of one man with more than one woman. Is it adultery if he is married to multiple woman who saved their honor for him? The examples we often see of adultery is when a married man sleeps with a woman married to a different man. David wasn't wrong for having multiple wives, he was wrong for sleeping with a woman who was betrothed, who gave her gift of virginity to another man before him. Isn't this a more consistent albeit unpopular view?

@blessytvzambia

Polygamy in many countries is outlawed and so it's usually not publicized that much or officially recognized. But in many places, it's traditionally recognized and normal to see a man with multiple wives. However, the majority of "polygamous" marriages happen almost everywhere with men having multiple wives and families in different cities or countries sometimes. Usually, the justification is that polygamy is the preferred state of marriage since it was widely practiced in the Old Testament and men should be allowed to have multiple wives and many try to justify its necessity today also. We do agree that the answer by Pastor Mike Winger seems to be one of the most reasonable we've seen amongst some we've come across.

This got nothing to do with religion, and religion is a feeble excuse for moral ethics. I have come to the believe that ultimately, nobody should tell anybody whom he should be partnered with, and with what form, as long as it is consensual (in case someone's wondering, minors can't consent). BUT in our society women still don't have enough power and aren't protected enough, so while some or even most women may be able to enter into a perfectly consensual polygamic situation, too many would be forced into it through abuse. Certainly in an islamic context, but there are plenty of supposedly Christian dick-heads.

Polygamy (from Late Greek πολυγαμία polygamía, "state of marriage to many spouses") is the practice of marrying multiple spouses. When a man is married to more than one wife at the same time, it is called polygyny. When a woman is married to more than one husband at the same time, it is called polyandry. In sociobiology and zoology, researchers use polygamy in a broad sense to mean any form of multiple mating.

I dont understand the concept of "one flesh". Pls elaborate. Bec a man sticks his penis inside the vagina, there is still NOT one flesh. His penis is still attached to his body and the vagina still is part of her body. That is how stupid the bible is. Oh you will say it is figuratively/symbolically meant. Okay then we take everything figuratively.
