Dude I can not believe I'm saying this, but I was more desperate for a C4D toilet tutorial than I'm willing to admit. This is excellent and superb. It's quite different than the toilet I want to model but you show the technique well enough that it doesn't matter. Thanks m8
Bro thanks again, your tutorial has resulted in me making my best model to date. All one primitive, no tris, good smooth topology, normals are all good etc. Until this point I've never known how to make nice rounded hard surfaces. Never even knew soft selection was a thing. It's a game changer!
Nothing that you mention here works in my C4D, the extrude only creates the edges, not the fill, and you can't extrude the object with all the sub parts...
Could be an issue with your vector path. It wont fill it in unless the path is closed. Try pressing 'hierarchal' under the object properties. You're welcome and good luck!
Nice video. I have a question. Do you know how to make steps of a character do not trespass the surface? I have a project in which I'm trying to move quadrupeds above an irregular surface, but i have not been able to reach that.
Would be super helpful if you articulated everything you were doing for us newbies. Trying to back into all the details and figure out how your selecting and doing things via a video is difficult. For example. At 50 seconds in you select the right side of the box and invoke some command that allows you to convert that line to a spline. No idea how to do that.
Bro can you make some poly tutorials for c4d r25? Like how to make smooth surfaces, add and delete polygons, how to bevel, etc... would be so epic !!! :)
amazing workflow! I think medium is useful mainly for freeform stuff anything realistic/detailed I still model in blender, but it's an awesome tool for expressive shapes :D More stuff like this pls!!! subed
Hola, buen video, ¿Qué versión tienes de cinema? Nos mandaron de tarea hacer un modelado 3D diferente a cada uno y hay unas opciones que no aparecen en mi cinema. Te lo agradecería mucho
Yes, i believe so. I"m no blender expert, but I know you can import a lot of file formats. Octane also has a blender plugin, but you could really use any 3d software you like once you export your geometry from Medium.
Hi man. Just started watching your videos learning how to use Medium and it looks like you are selecting your smooth tool every time you need it. It may be that you already learned this but there is actually an Alternative Tool you can select and use. When you are in your Tool Dial menu look at the tool that has the little purple triangle. That tool can be selected when you hold down the index finger on your support hand. You can change which tool is your alternative tool by having the tool dial come up and then pointing with your tool hand and pressing the support hand index finger.
@@DLGNCE Especially using the Smooth tool. It is used soooo much so can save a lot of time and it can sharpen your workflow to get in the habit of activating it by pressing the support hand trigger. Happy to share.
Vr painting and sculpting is pretty cool. I tried it recently. I tried out tilt brush. If you have any questions about it let me know. (better write me on instagram then here though) samrassy is my handle there.
maybe there is a way to bake those textures with the current flat projection on the model? and then we could do actual animation with the rig? theres gotta be a way...
first time using C4D and when i put the color into the skate and then render a region everything is grey. do I have to change anything in the settings or install something for rendering??? thank you!
Tough to say without seeing the file... Could be that your normals are inverted? Maybe there is a selection tag in your material? Maybe there is a duplicate object and it's overlapping the space you want to see the material?
Awesome tut! Thanks! But how do you get those lines on the underside of the beak at 04:22? I got the polygon hole closed, but can't see how you get those connected lines. (also couldn't find reset PSR option - I'm on R24) Watched in slo-mo many times. Ha. Great stuff!
Thanks for watching, glad you found it useful. I used the 'close polygon hole' command at 4:22, and the green lines are just showing the connection of points accross an n-gon. Hope that helps.
