I'm kidding, I don't think you knew if this would be a VOD to begin with, but that doesn't change how jarring this is. We went from a strength faith build with an axe to spears and no magic to be found. And this is not remotely where the last VOD left off but it's in the playlist, it's very confusing to people who wanted to watch your first playthrough end-to-end or near it, after the fact. This stuff is why I always wish you just streamed straight to Green Talks. These holes wouldn't really be a thing then. I imagine it's too late for this series, since you probably don't have those VODS laying around, but still... It's bothersome. Honestly, I personally find it super grating you expect people to use Twitch, of all things, if they want to see everything. Like, I try to be civil about it, though my success in that is debatable... But it's just so enraging. I super like your streams and I've watched nearly every VOD for a year and a half, maybe more, now. But you stream on the worst site ever conceived... Like, it's SO BAD. Maybe I just have the worst luck ever but every time I try to watch your streams live, I end up watching almost nothing but ads. What's the point then? And the problem would be solved if you just streamed on something not named "Twitch". I'd rather watch on just about anything else. Hey green. Have you considered playing more single player campaign type games and streaming them? I think that be pretty cool. Don't know how many people would watch it but it'd be a nice change of pace. That is one of my favourite aspects of watching streamers. Watching their personal expiercne of playing through a good game from start to finish. And I think your personailty and view points on tbose type of game would be interesting. Playing someyhing like God of War 2018, Subnuaticia, Doom 2016, Red Dead Redemptiom 2. Batman Arkahm games. Even if you don't end up liking them and only get ome stream out of it, I still think a lot of people will enjoy watching it. I know I will.
To activate the fate's favor you need to checklist the circle beside the text, but you don't do it so your restart is just normal restart. I hope you still continue this campaign and if you find the stealth hard try to ignore the extra goal so you can kill the enemies

Reading the replies make me feel bad for playing the game. FGO is a very old game that I fell in love with. There are no disagreements today about calling it super old, especially given the format. Despite this, I really enjoy the game. I know I could be playing games with better optimised systems, such as Arknight and HSR, but I still enjoy the game. The story of FGO is good, but the very bad format makes it difficult and bad for people to get in, and I understand why most people think it is not that good or overrated. I had the pleasure of reading the manga version of some chapters, such as Okeanos and South America Singularity, and it dawned on me how poorly the format reflects the FGO story. The grinding is just looping along with very hard mat drops, and some of the systems, such as the coin system, were poorly integrated, which is why no one likes it. It is an easy game to abandon, but I prefer it to HSR and Arknight (both of which I play). The reason is simply that FGO provides more variety than others. HSR units rely heavily on the very bad relic system, and outside of the mode that overbuffs them, you can immediately see how bad they are. Arknight low star units are completely useless once you reach certain chapters. Not to mention how heavily reliant they are on RNG, how useless most 5 stars are, and how much mats they consume compared to FGO. FGO is a game that requires little guidance and allows you to change things to your liking and the mechanics are easier to understand. I still like FGO and hope they continue to improve. It is probably wishful thinking because everyone, including you, has criticised it more than I can, and you will most likely abandon it someday. I just wanted to thank you for all of the low stars guide you gave me when I thought I could not do some nods (Olga Marie wave), because it forced me to adjust things I did not know I could do. Man, seeing the future for FGO NA in two years from JP makes me consider quitting since the game's future looks rather dismal. Maybe I'll just play the main story and only events I like such as GudaGuda.
I truly don't understand what compells people to still play this game ever day, as like a hard core fan. There is nothing to do. It's farming for the sake of farming to see a number go up. You have to wait a month for a worthless joke event that takes literal weeks for the actual "meat" of the event to unlock. Just to farm glorfied dailes which gimmick consists of finding the right servant which has a special damage up for that level. Then you mix in all the pieces of exoudia until you get a 3 turn comp which allows you to mindlessly grind for hours. The challenge quests have gotten so convulted it's impossible to even tell how the fight works without playing it at least 2 times and power creep is so bad people can trivailize any piece of content. It's impossible to balance when you have servavnts like Phantom and Castoria in the same game. There is no gimmick or mechanic they can make that makes both sides interesting without massivily nerfing the expierence of the people without all the op bs. Even when they do make good content, which is rare, it still is only good by the standards of fgo. Even if other gacha games lack the choices of a turn based game like fgo, their actual gameplay is just more fun. For most players the choices don't even matter, you just press all the buttons in order until you 3 turn. You have to activitly try to fail when using all the op supports. If you removed np's from the game hypothetically, 99% of the content and general game play is just a loading screen simulator that happens to have fate characters in it. It just takes way too long to do anything and all the good content is behind just hours and hours upon trash mob fights and bad story. Watching new players pick up the game, specfically streamers, just shows how bad the game is from a new persepctitve. The game did not teach them how to play at all and they spend 5 hours killing skeletons. Then they get to a boss with actual mechnics and just summon a op freind support to insta win. They don't even interact with the game because it's so uninteresting. The i.p and characters are the only think that keeps the game running. With fate being as big of a franchise as is, I suspect very many people find fgo after reading 1 or two fate media. So a lot of people only get fgo when they know maybe 20 of the 400 different characters, it really is not even that fun just to casually play as a fate fan. If don't already have an account with years and years of build up it takes forever just to level the few characters you like, let alone if you can even roll for them. I do love the music and that is always a highlight. Also some aspects of the story and boss fights but I just cannot justify spending hunderds of hours to get a few hours of good content.
There's a few sentiments that argued NP6 is still a terrible idea and this announcement are nothing but band-aid method, but majority i've seen is just mindless "9th anniv is the best!" "devs listened!" etc. meanwhile the best thing they've added this anniv were the quick farm option from skills upgrade menu, which should've happened years ago. They just quick to pleased even though the "fix" hasn't happened yet, it could be next month, or worst.. next year. or they trying to delay the fix until 10th anniv, since JP seems allergic to not spend money in this trash heaps of fire. If they did fix it, it be kinda funny if they found out that NP8 rollback caused them a huge profit loss from "proper pity" and forced some drastic change. Either they'll add more insane monetization, or EoS. but i doubt they did, since JP doesn't mind with lasagna's abusive method.
I honestly can't believe the amount of people i've seen (including FGOtubers) saying shit like "ThEy FiXeD tHe CoiNs SYsTeM" when this doesn't fix anything. It's still ultra fucked up for 4* servants if you want to 120 and/or unlock appends, even for 5 stars, you still need a lof copies to max out a servant, the core issue is still there, it being that we don't get enough coins per copy. Can't believe the devs are being praised for making a horrible system barely less bad.

I agree with most of your takes on the game. It will without a doubt make the game better for a "gamer" (do pardon me on the word, i dont know the exact word to use here so please let me know if there is a better one) I,however, want to share my perspective as an average person working on a day job and dealing with life as much as the next person. I just need 15-30 minutes of mindless fun, seeing my favorite servant doing some cool stuff and move on with my life, with no pressure of having to complete anything. As a person who play the game for hours a day, i am sure it's getting frustrating due to the lack of content and the UI issues that you mentioned. On the other hand, as someone who just casually play the game, I, frankly put, couldn't care less about the changes you proposed because it does not have any significant impact on my 15 minutes of fun. In that sense, just as you said, i have no standard, but do i really need one when all i want is to turn off my brain and forget about life for a while? I'm not saying i speak for the majority, but FGO, for me at least, is just a mobile game at the end of the day, I don't have to invest hours into it for the issues you mentioned to have a significant impact on my experience with the game. I know I'm repeating myself, but i just want a short, mindless time, and the game for me provide just that. Adding content to the game like a roguelike doesn't take away from all the easy content that's there. Most games that have ACTUAL features and gamemodes make the truly hard content optional.
The only way they can make anniversary 10 worth it is if they just complete overhaul the game. Anything less and it would just reconfirm that this cash cow is nothing but that, the players are always in last place. You can't have 2012 UI and menus in 2024 and stil be proud of your "game"

Im going to piss of some people by saying this but i agree with honako, 'm currently playing avalon le fae on NA, and im at chapter 19. I seriously do not get the hype for this story at all, the first 14 chapters are so drawn that i was seriously considering giving up, then when i finally beat the calamity in greenwhich, castoria just spasses out and doesnt want to ring the bell, NO, instead we must make a giant fkn detour all the way to camelot, to medb, to londinium and finally back to greenwhich to save it, again?? The problem i have with lb6 and fgo in general is that they keep regurgitating the same stuff, long drawn out sections in the story that dont have to be there and constantly repeat the same lines over and over, treating me like an Alzheimers patient who forgets the story every 5seconds. Now im at ch19 and lb6 is finally getting good, but m point being is, why does it always have to take this dev team 10-20 hours of dumb, slogged down setup to get anything done. Lb6 is 30+ chapters long but in reality, it could have been 20~ if they just cut out some of the waste (seriously go look at how long the londinium slog before the woodwose fight takes) I love fate and fgo as a proxy but it is undeniable that this game has massive pacing issues, treat u like an absolute buffoon who cant use their eyes to see anything, use exposition all the time (da vinci's entire existence lmao) and loves to spend your precious time on things that aren't requird for the story or just make it worse in general. Also in case i triggered any lb6 fans, lb4 has the same issue, its genuinely boring up until the massive plot twists happen, the only difference is that lb4 is 20 chapters that are all way shorter, whereas lb6 is 30 and they are usually 5-10mins per ARROW, where most chapters have 5-7 arrows minimum.
LB6's main issue is that it really drags a lot at some points. When it is great, it's absolutely peak, but sometimes you really feel it could be a lot shorter than it ended being. That's why I love LB7 a lot more than LB6, almost no dragging and the juicy stuff is absolutely amazing.
Beating a dead horse (get it? Cause Red hare got a meh buff?) but I guess I might add some of my own thoughts about the discussion on Fgo's story. Pre Camelot, it's shit. No way about it. Post that, when you consider the various moments in a vacuum, for example Karna vs Arjuna in Lb4, it's great. But then you look back at the rest of Lb4 and it's just, so many filler stages with very meh dialogue and that's a lot of the story. I think a lot of people focus on just those moments alone forgetting or excusing the meh parts as just build up. I see it as wasted potential especially when you consider cases like Mordred in Lb3 who does not to or have any significant interaction outside of being the muscle of the group. It may be realistic but its also just a waste of a character who could bring an interesting dynamic (not to mention that LB3 is paced horribly coming to an abrupt showdown and then ending after the incredibly slow start). Fgo's story is good when its about the characters like Atlantis. However, there's more aspects to the story such as pacing, dialogue, overarching themes and narrative and I feel like the story is much worse in those aspects especially pacing and dialogue (Visual novels in general suffer from terrible dialogue with it being so exposition heavy). Lb6 is one where it particularly comes to a head and while there are some aspects I like about it (Castoria and the war sequence), its also the extremes of all the issues i mentioned with awful pacing, inorganic world building through nothing but expo dumps and it suffering from Nasu rewriting the story (Castoria's original lines, Percival's role and Sith in general being less a character and more just there to develop morgan and castoria). Also no, something being popular doesn't necessarily mean it's good. Popular stuff can be bad too. Not an indicator of quality. TL DR: Mecha Break looks cool but i'm sad I can't play it 😥
I swear, some of the people that defend this game are some the most masochistic gacha fans, maybe more than dragonball legends players. This game has been stagnant for years in terms of meaningful qol and meta shakeup (aka quick being trash essentially being 2 supports and a aoe quick farmer) that NEEDS to be in the game. There is so much obvious shit that still needs to be in the game thats not there. Not quite. I would say it is more like a gathering of players who played for a long time being amazed at how a game can get away with some of the most lazy and greedy updates while still somehow having a fanbase that accepts the incredible mediocrity thrown at them.

pretty sure green likes arknights more because of gameplay,,better user interface and better business practice and did state he prefers fgo characters more however he is still playing a video game so gameplay would take more precedence or else he would just read a book or novels. i dont know what green thinks about arknights narrative however arknight is above fgo in basically anything else aside from narrative and character variety however character variety seems to be a problem for most Chinese gacha game.
I said this in the last video but hearing you roast FGOs story is straight up cathartic for me. I got into FGO when NA servers came out and people hammered down how the story was amazeballs from Camelot onward and to just tolerate the mediocre story early on. Well between how much of a slog and grind the gameplay was (doubly so because I didn’t roll for Waver) and the bad story I just gave up around London. I came back right before Camelot released and rushed through the story but after reading Camelot/Babylonia/Solomon while I thought the story had improved it still felt like a slog. Lacking in real descriptive text, the repetition, how rare CGs were and how drawn out it is. I criticized the story and people thought I was crazy for not thinking it was amazing. Like an idiot I still stuck around out of sunk cost fallacy and love for the IP until about halfway through EoR. Then I dropped it again and tried getting into it again one last time when the Lostbelts started but I still didn’t find the story to be that amazing and my tolerance for manual farming had eroded away. FGOs storytelling is just not that good. Mentioning Genshin is funny because its a game I want to be able to enjoy exploring the open world and stuff but the game forces you to sit through the bad writing and Paimon without the ability to skip so I can’t get into it. One thing that makes people really sour is when I mention that I think its unacceptable how poor quality the early arcs are. It will take an average new player even with OP friend supports like 30-40 hours to clear the first five chapters and that’s way too much bad to put up with. The absolute bare minimum they should do is have a summary and allow players to skip and collect all the rewards from the first five chapters. But thanks. I always feel like a crazy person when I mention the story of FGO is overrated so its nice someone else shares this opinion.
It being drawn out is a really good point. I find even if a story's theme or ideas are amazing it's ruined if it's rushed or drawn out to long. And the whole reason I can't play Genshin is because I can't stand listening to the NPCs talk to themselves for hours on end without a skip button 🥶
Different cup of tea for anyone. I find other gacha games lacking in story element while most of them if not all are straight up trash which is basically the entirety of mihoyo games. Also, if I sit on my chair playing games that automatically plays itself then I'd rather not play at all. Out of all the gacha games I've played, it's only FGO that I find tolerable.
Honestly imo the writing is hot garbage. I was told that I'd enjoy the chapter that involved lore I was into, so I gave lb4 a chance and it was genuinely awful. Only decent character was Pepperoncino. I was reading lb6 (apparently a "great" chapter) then Da Vinci "figures out" something in the stupidest most non-sensical way. Gave the vibes of an idiots idea of a smart person. I stopped progressing in the chapter after that.

The gacha genre is not one that makes for good storytelling when it has to keep going for years without end, it can’t have pullable characters do anything that would make people not want to pull for them and unless its one of those games where the gacha pool is only alts of the cast it has to constantly introduce new characters and bloat up the cast to absurd levels so people have something new to roll on. Regarding autobattling, here’s the thing, even if there was an autobattle function you don’t have to use it. You are free to farm stuff manually. Does the existence of an autobattle external app for FGO take away from your choice to farm manually? Of course not. You’re just taking away choice from other players and causing them to lose interest (or install FGA lol). And the problem with FGO is that its 95% farming and going through the same motions again and again. Thats not engaging or fun. Autobattle at least lets you do something else and save manual play for actually engaging content like boss battles and challenge quests. Better yet allowing you to sweep or burn 5x stamina for 5x the rewards once you clear it once. Or even better what more modern gachas are doing and instead of having to grind stages they just have you clear much more engaging content once and minigames to break monotony (good luck doing that with FGO code and tiny staff tho lol).

Dude, I so agree about the Charlot buff. These people were so excited for her buff to be a CHOICE. I'm like "dude she's a ONE STAR ASSASSIN? Why not give her ALL the buffs at once? Why are you happy with a sucky choice??"
Most of the buffs this anniversary were really good, even Merlin and Asclepius got hilariously good buffs that they absolutely did not need. But the exceptions are Iskander's and Charlotte's. Iskander's is just very bleh, and I wish the generic 30% charge had been added to his third skill and they buffed the other effects on it to be 3 turns. But Charlotte's is just so confusing because a 1 Star Assassin is not going to be broken with a skill like that, they would've just made her way more fun to play. It's a shame because I feel like William Tell and Mandricado's buffs last year and now Charlotte's buff this year, are perfect examples of them having the right idea for a buff but just not implementing it properly at all.

My standards aren't high. FGO players just don't have any. A story can be made for easy reading and still be well written. Part of being "easy to read" is not having loads of exposition word vomit. Lots of manga, games, books, movies etc make things simple and fun AND THEY ARE WELL WRITTEN If FGO wants things to be easy and fun they should stop spamming text walls of garbage souless dialogue. Instead of having Mash say "X person just did Y!" They should USE the many features VNs have to help tell a story, moving sprites, sound effects, backgrounds, voice acting. FGO is lazy. They don't trust the reader to pay attention. If they show Mash punching Bob. They think "What if some people don't notice!?" So they have Da vinci word vomit "Mash just punched Bob!" Lots of light reading books don't have this issue. And they have none of the advantages FGO has. If quick an easy books can figure it out. FGO certainly can. My standards are very fucking low. And they really shouldn't be considering FGO has made billions. (Also there's nothing contrarian about this. Outside of the FGO scene nobody thinks this shit is well written)
Rider Da Vinci's entire role in the story is to vomit out exposition dialogue that should just normally be described to us. She is basically Speedwagon.
And before her, Mashu was the expositionist in Part 1. That's why I couldn't stomach her nor I accept the shipping of them. To me, she's just a loyal and best friend and that's it. Other servants shine more in the romantic interest department than her, like Jalter, Castoria, Musashi, Okita Alter, Melt, and so on.
I wish I could get away with fucking up this badly as this game does, they give you feces to eat and whales go "delicious give me 8 more of these". I was really happy when I finally saw the community get vocally angry and not allow Lasengle to get away with being greedy and incompetent, but I lost even more respect for the players when all it took for them to go back at kissing Lasengle's feet were some quartz and a pinky promise they will eventually make changes that don't even do much to actually fix the main issue, with no estimated time or roadmap for when they will be get implemented. I've never seen in my entire life a game company being able to get away with this level of sheer incompetence and greed, and get so little pushback from the community.
Don't worry, I can give you an example, the pokémon company. Pokémon games are getting worse and worse and yet each new title sells better and better so the company does less and less as time goes on because why put in work and time if it sells anyway? just release a low effort game yearly and call it a day. Scarlet and violet are just undefendable, especially compared to xenoblade, other switch titles or even older pokémon games. Pokémon is the highest grossing media franchise ever by the way
@@pucci405Pokemons official games may be bad but at least some of the fangames are pretty great. Agree though a large portion of Pokemons fanbase is children and people who only play Pokemon and maybe 1 or 2 other Nintendo series which is why their standards are low
The buffs were good. Worst definitely Gilles as he buffs a ssr in Jeanne. Bird doctor Merlin are how support buffs should go. Looking at you quick in skadi getting an np buff. Nursery rhyme and nitocris very nice but long overdue. Billy the kid was probably the coolest to see as he definitely deserved it for being ignored so long. This anny was quite messy. The fact they had the coin system and still chose to wait means they wanted to milk it further if players didn't complain. Not expecting much on summer honestly. Aside getting ishtarlyne but it feels like the summer events are getting shorter despite fgo pushing back everything with 3 week events
@@A2ZOMGimagine how long a Gilles castoria comp would take doing anything. He's not even that good in general especially when needing buster. So unless you have Merlin and refuse to have fun then he's the perfect lead.
@@ivanbluecool the larger point is he's a 3 star that gets to OC Castoria and give a different Lawful DPS a huge 3 turn crit buff. That's a REALLY good job to have for a low rarity.
@@A2ZOMGthe overcharge wouldn't give you much of a help since you drop damage and take more turns to fight the boss anyways. So yeah that's bad logic. That's like people saying to use bb summer to lock a hand for more damage when you can just use Oberon to get 70 charge and blast the wave without much trouble for any color team. If Gilles was a st arts saber and his buster up was arts then he'd have some utility with the overcharge as he'd be able to loop better
@@ivanbluecool that is the point of a stalling comp , killing slowly but surely , gilles buff was better than some other , the issue is that you need to take into acc WHO gets it , and even if you do that , red hare buff was worse , it barely makes a difference , idk how you missed him
They gave Merlin a buff. MERLIN. Also green on writing this is a fan base that comes from tsukuhime and fsn where they have so many plot holes and people refuse to admit it. Especially ciel and sakura fans on how ciel has a bad route that repeats arcs and sakura things just happen just because and touko thrown in at the end. Fsn and zero we got good motivations for how or why the cast act in certain ways which is good but the writing is eeeh. And even then most fgo fans didn't even read it so they don't got an excuse on bad takes in writing. Lb 6 I don't understand how people can justify fake medb and that entire scene or the chocolate fight but then I remember people have selective memory. Most Morgan/artoria fans don't even know who castoria is even though she says a million times. Honestly even knk i have problems with as araya and such are enemies we shouldn't see lose so easily. Same with tsukuhime as nasu basically admits nero was too powerful by removing him for fgo instead. Extra is bad. Tamamo is the main character but nero is saber face..kinda similar to fsn and which girl is actually the secondary mc. Ccc is good but the cast act like idiots. How could bb beat Gilgamesh gawain karna and hans if we all worked together? But honestly 1 5 and 7 were better in general in gameplay and story
that riab scene is called comedy relief , juust because you didnt find it funny doesnt affect directly the writing , like if you all gonna bitch abt writing , learn at least what is good writing smh. good writing start with good world building , characters with fleshed personality and background that align with there motivation and a serious lack of plothole , an narration and an ending that is coherent and that answer the different question , that is what good writing is. as long all these point are respected , that is good writing , now the quality may increase based on how well are handled each part and how unexpected it is , lb6 ha all that and is not obvious at all which make it peak fgo , castoria character dev was great too. like dont go call the writing bad just becausse of some subjective shit that you PERSONALLY didnt like , like come on. a story is judged poor in writing based on objective flaws
@@morsayxdGood writing can be objective, and FGO's stories are objectively meh with some exceptions. Just like you said, just because you like something or don't like it doesn't mean it's bad or good, but you can definitely see the flaws of FGO's stories. None of the sorry writing points you just mentioned have been properly done, and it's getting more boring day by day. Rather than improving they slap favorite servants on your face and expect you to be satisfied, and if you're that guy honestly you're the problem. FGO is getting away with more bad shit, and that's just because the idiots playing it settle with just crumbs. Honestly if you like FGO in this state, fair enough. But just don't go crying when they inevitable make worse changes, and even write worse stories. Just keep that in mind.
I'm curious, what are the many plotholes of Tsukihime exactly? Its not a secret the Ciel route in the original is pretty bad, everyone that read it agrees it is almost pointless since half of the route is just Arcueid's route, but aside from that, everything else is really well written, and they fixed Ciel's route in the remake, even if there's a few new issues with the new content.

It's pointless at best and needs unironically needs the bb skip feature from summer 3 as it plays the same way At worst. I can't think of one section in fsn that would need that since fsn and ubw emiya is around while hf probably the herc fight but that's it as things really change from the prologue Remember this was nasu who has over 20 years to come up with something and this is the best he did which is especially bad. I mean compared to urobuchi who is phoning everything in now a days with accel and lb 3 when zero is better than most If not everything nasu has done.
