Your video Is a testament to what we already know about you Tommy you are an intelligent caring and much involved person that displays a deep affection for and commitment in all that you create. Of course your influences show through in your work that you are dedicated to and have profoundly influenced so many who are up and coming in the industry. I agree you are so unappreciated by the musical establishment you so love. 🎸
Tommy thank you for sharing and showing more of your ❤ and passion for your craft which BTW is so unappreciated by the musical establishment. You are truely an American treasure.
Both Wes Montgomery and George Benson could really play a great Jazz Guitar. A talent that we may never see the like of again. Frankly, due to health and financial reasons I have missed all of the bands performances. Now, Styx is doing their Farewell Tour. Over the past seven years I have found sustaining and encouraging words in: Boat on the River, Crystal Ball, Renegade, Man in the Wilderness, Radio Silence. I have been a fan since I graduated high school in 1977. One of the first songs that got a lot of air-play was "Lady" being a bit of a wild-child "Renegade" stayed with me. I will miss you and your incredible vocal range. How anyone can sing like that and not blow a vocal chord is positively astonishing. Wow. I truly hope you get to spend some much needed quality time with your family. Be at peace. Take care. Bye for now.
Yup, recording in analog means recording the drums hot. Little to no compression. The limitations of analog tape will prevent clipping plus give you a few decibels of "play" during the mix. Get them in the pocket with the bass, with the guitars, keys, and vocals just above it. Makes vinyl sound fantabulous!
