I am just getting into simple engraving, with first set of tools and materials on the way. One way or another, I need to make some chisels. What total chisel length do you recommend?
@@dwharrisguns You welded the thinner business end to the thicker hammering end? Very interesting. It may be just the motivation I need to learn basic welding. My plan was to use 6mm square blanks and surface sand the business end to 2.35mm-3mm. Is your hammering end 6mm square or larger? I've got orders in process for 3mm, 4mm, and 6mm square blanks and will order larger sizes if needed. Thank you for your help.
