I’m glad that the Ampex VR-7000 is back in working order, except the video is still having a problem, because of the alignment. I hope it will get this thing working. This was originally intended to use with CRT sets in both black & white and color.
If you are going to align the machine by eye, you should really use an analog CRT monitor. The reason is that flat panels have extensive digital processing and go blank with input signal anomalies. Even worse is viewing through your edit software. A B&W monitor is just fine, in fact preferable. Color CRTs on auction sites are through the roof due to the video gamers but B&W are still reasonably cheap.
My mom died just over a year ago, and I realize now it says so many good things about her that she bought this album for me and my sister. It conveys so many of the values she wanted me to have.
This is one terrible, inaccurate, misleading title... This is NOT DURING the world series.. it is in the evening after game six is complete and finished.... STUPID TITLE
Lyrics: A funshine Saturday on ABC The sun is high The wind is free Jump a fence Scramble up a tree Together, together A funshine rainbow Flashing in your eye Apple world Blueberry sky Spread your wings Come on along, let's fly Together, together Skies are clear Awfully happy we could be here Country lanes And city streets to see Catch a dream And come with me A funshine Saturday's the place to be Together, together A funshine Saturday on A-B-C!

Oooh, came here for 31:00 - glad to see it's in there -- the Dustin Hoffman bit was missing from another upload I found of this (v=VFzMAApcW4U). Glad to see that it's here in this one! (*now goes to watch it.*)
I've been binge watching your videos lately and I just wanted to thank you for all of your preservation efforts. I - as I'm sure many others - look forward to your future discoveries. All the best, sir.
It could have been mentioned here that consumer color cameras did NOT have broadcast quality. So the image quality does not only depend on the pilot tone.
Those early cable access shows are great and full of modern history we have largely forgotten. I hope you will be able to share these, too. Very, very cool.
@@MegaAfterschool €500 is also a common price on eBay in Germany for working devices. The device was obviously taken out of service because of a defective cassette slot and not because the head drum was worn out. With this device you can at least see that it works👍
Hi Obsolete Video, do you have any of the 1970s animated Jack In The Box commercials with Jack [when he had green hair] and his animated cast of friends [Secret Sauce Agent, Hamburgermeister, Small Fry, Onion Ring Thing, The Shakes, etc...]? I've been searching for these ads as I've been trying to research Jack In The Box's history.
As always, Rick to the rescue. The images look great and the levels are really good. Don't know if you can share this or not, but I would love to watch it in full. Have a great Sunday, Rick.
Digital S was the choice format of the Fox network in the late 1990s. One of it's attributes is it supported 480P which was how Fox introduced Digital TV. (they are 720P today). Other than Fox and some of it's affiliates, the format did not have wide spread use. It's competitor was Sony Betacam SX which was more widely adopted due to analog Betacam playback capability. Both these digital formats used rather high compression ratios by broadcast standards of the time. They were intended as news gathering and other lower quality applications.
I was 9 when this came out and remember the controversy. It was such a big deal. We had catholic neighbors and this one mom said the director of this film must be a real sicko to make such a film. 😂 I also remember David Sheehan! We lived in Huntington Beach and he was on the evening CBS news all the time. Wow what a flashback.
That Jumbo at the start is a RARE one itself . Its a dinky version chopped in length . I see one of those from the North side of Southend Esplanade . It was flaying just before the sand on the beach . It was China Airlines on the penultimate airshow there. It was 70ft from the floor to belly and about 400 yrds away from me maybe even as short as 250 yds . Looks really really weird . Apparently its for range and mixed cargo / long Haul passenger use ... Thats nearly a UfO in itself...
I just saw Cassandra (Elvira) on a podcast she’s 77 and she looks amazing.. but at this time wow what a body .. the boobs the long legs.. I had great long gorgeous legs and boobs… a few yrs ago I still do I just don’t dress up anymore…

And they say menthol was is out for minorities, that's what caused mental to be banned finally here in california. But then you see these old commercials from the 1970s and the ones that are Hawking the menthol cigarettes are all white. Gee, sure is a bad thing when you think about it.
Thyristor = Silicon Controlled Rectifier (SCR). Another version is a TRIAC which is two SCR's back to back and used extensively in low cost light dimmers. They are switches, either conducting or not. That Ampex early MDA was designed at a time when cost effective high power transistors were not available. TheAmpex MDA is a PWM, Pulse Width Modulator varying the duty cycle of a square wave controlling the motor torque/speed. These SCRs can probably be easily substituted with modern parts as their function is rather generic. I keep telling you to get the red, first edition, Harry Kybett 'Video Tape Recorders' book. he explains this exact circuit in detail as well as many of the other vintage VTRs you own. It's a great complement to any service manual as service manuals typica;;y don't explain the design theory. There's two in that famous auction site right now. There is also a second edition that covers later broadcast helical machines in brief detail but I recommend the first edition.
