From June 6, 1938, with Buck Clayton, trumpet; Lester Young, tenor sax; Count Basie, piano; Freddie Green, guitar; Walter Page, bass; Jo Jones, drums. Recorded by John Hammond during an audition for singer Helen Humes to join the Basie band, replacing Billie Holiday as the girl singer. The music was not released at the time, but apparently released some 20 years later by Hammond. This is one of the best songs ever I love people at its greatest and how fast and complex it is this is one of the greatest artist ever Charlie Parker and I love that song completely it’s great. It’s too bad that Charlie parker didn’t do any trio dates with just saxophone bass and drums that would’ve been very revolutionary I love his music.
