Hi, Hello there. Greetings from California. I was first introduced to the work of Dr. Peterson after going through a series of traumatic events. I have been sorting myself out and defeating my dragons one by one. Now its time to help others defeat the dragons in their lives. As I learn the basic skills needed to communicate with you, I will use the comment sections to help others whenever I can. I have one focus, Provide a free speech forum for anyone to come and develop a deeper understanding of self. Learn how to communicate with every type of person and the world becomes much less threatening. I have one goal, to create a dialogue that values every point of view without emotional interference. You have the power to live without fear.
Journey with me along the path of enlightenment.
I will continue to be a champion of free speech until it is no longer welcome on this platform.
re: The fox... Some predators are super focused (by human standards...) - all of their awareness goes to their intended prey. Others, like the fox, are considered wily and cunning, even sneaky, because they can divide their attention between their intended prey and a problematic threat like a shepard or other third-party protector... Not only to consider the presence of a shepard, but to go as far as anticipating their response, to (perhaps) know their mind...
My supervised Mensa IQ scores from 2016 were 117 and 116 if placed on the commonly used standard deviation of 15, and I failed to get a single grade from school and failed in my job as an assistant gardener. I have have been medicated for schizophrenia since I was about 18 years old in 1993. I just couldn't apply my intelligence very well. IQ doesn't always reflect on academic success.
I recently thought of this video and reading all the comments makes me giggle. In the past I found peace in the idea of "No one gets away with anything" because of the traumatic events in my life. I'm at a point now where I understand that people constantly get away with their shit. If that wasn't the case, then there would be no wars, no rape, no assault, no crime. Because punishment would follow. But that is just not the case. The universe doesn't fix every wrong humans make, there is no wheel of justice that turns and gets everyone. Everyone gets away with everything pretty much all the time - THAT is the reality we live in. The sooner you accept it, the sooner you will find actual peace.
Soldier maybe, but what about squad leader? I found that good managers share a lot of similarities with a good squad leader. Infact this is a better apples-to-apples comparison.
Jesus is purposely introducing a perfect and impossible standard (the true spirit of the Law) in order to expose the spiritual slavery and hypocrisy of His Jewish audience. With this in mind, the Sermon on the Mount is not a sweet passage for Christian growth, but instead it serves as “nails in the coffin” of anyone who thinks they can keep the true standard of the Jewish law. GET GRACE!
Chaos, a Greek term translated as "chasm" or "abyss" by West, is the first being to come into existence in Hesiod's Theogony. In the Greek, it is essentially a great abyss, and empty, formless, and infinite space. It is not at all like our notion of things out of order. So it is wrong to speak about chaos versus order without proper explanation of meaning in the Greek not in English and other modern languages. And the archetype he is (not accurately) talking about is not universal as Greek mythology is not the only mythology in the world. The West African creator-goddess is Mawu who created the earth and everything upon it. In the creation myth of the Sumerians, the first god is Nammu, the god of chaos and the primeval waters or saltwater. Nammu gives birth to Ki, the Earth, and An, the sky. The principal creator god in Ancient Egyptian religion is the sun-god Ra. Brahma is the Hindu god of creation also known as the grandfather, he was the original creator of the universe. Pangu is the Chinese god of creation, he began creating the world: he separated yin from yang with a swing of his giant axe, creating the earth (murky yin) and the sky (clear yang). Viracocha is the creator god of pre-Inca and Inca civilizations. Considered the most supreme of the Inca's gods, he is believed to have created the heavens, the earth, and all beings, including animals, humans, and other deities.
"When someone betrays you, you now have to think of them as someone betraying you and plan accordingly. This is hard for many reasons." He could have just said that, rather than making us listen to him for 5 minutes.
Yes, but attachment to get rid of is attachment to self. I find that Peterson often twists Buddhism, Daoism etc. to both sound profound and suit his own agenda. He suffers a lot from confirmation bias - creating his own theory and adapting other ideologies to suit his own.
