Straight out of Bach's St. Matthew's Passion. Great treatment by Paul, but let's listen to the original!

This song sums up my life that turned out to be hard. “Tomorrows going to be another working day, I’m trying to get some rest” Sums up a lot of my life. ❤️ to Paul Simon, a gift .

Back whe I was working in radio, I [played this on the air just after 9/11 (our station mostly played classical music). It just seemed to fit. The main tune is an old one--Bach used it on his "St. Matthew Passion". And Peter, Paul and Mary did a version under the title "Bacause All Men Are Brothers".

Sad... Respect for this song which was one of many sung in Cape Town in 1966 in Folk Clubs as a protest against Apartheid system which was causing so much division amongst the national groups in SA... Always reminds me of Junior Gloyne and Mark Ryan...

I have listened to this song a lot lately…. I my opinion We are at a moment in history where we have the chance to vote for Love and people who look out for others. Or vote for those who only think about themselves…. I can’t help but weep as I listen to Pauland realize that words from 50 years ago resonate. We can Hope ❤️
