Great stuff, ive only been in the grandstand, its a great track, hust a pity you carnt walk all around the track. Still a great job from Mort and Dave Gordon.
As someone that has watched racing from nearly every view - south stand, grandstand, the Peter Craven suite, the temp stand we had on turns 1&2 for a time, it is the third bend that is the best place to watch racing from.
Enjoyed that thanks. My local so know it well but always nice to see it through fresh eyes. 'We're Tigers' definitely splits the fan base 😂 Personally I like it, it's a bit of fun!
I like this series that you do. It's a good idea. It's a shame you have to do that silly voice at the start though. Makes Speedway fans that might travel anywhere sound like anoraks.
Hello, great video, I was pleased that you mentioned that racing had been taking place at Foxhall Heath since 1951. But are you aware that when it opened and till into the mid sixties, the speedway track was where the stock car track is now. That was a big fast track those days, but with a sheet steel safety?? fence!
Thanks for the trip down memeroy lane. Saw my first meeting there at Foxhall in summer of 71. My Father was stationed at RAF Woodbrige. I saw my last meeting there in 99, I was stationed at RAF Lakenheath 96-99. Sure do miss it.
Great video, hoping to see the new stadium one of these years when Im over there on my hols, I was a regular at Hyde road back in the early 70's, watched a few meetings at the Kirky lane track while over there, but cant wait to see the NSS and some great racing :)
Please keep doing these road trips. I love the quirkiness of the speedway stadiums. Pictures on the internet don’t do them justice whereas your videos do. They are each unique in their own way. I love the fact that you get behind the scenes and go to places like the referees box and media area which we as fans cannot get to. Please do a video for all of the speedway stadiums you visit.
Hi. I'm a fan of the now defunked Reading Racers. Phil Morris was a great Captain for us. Had time to chat with us & the kids. Miss it like mad. It is my favourite sport. "Use it or lose it people". 😢😢😢😢 Thanks for these great videos. Please keep them coming.
I was brought up watching Cradley Heath as my dad worked as a raker at Dudley Wood so always sat on the grass bank in the pits area but always loved watching Chris ride.
I have been a Reading Racers fan since a kid in the 60's. Went to Tilehurst, Then Smallmead. Hate the demise of the Racers, but love anything speedway. Thanks for this video. I look forward to your other visits to different tracks. My message to speedway fans is to use it while it's there. You will be gutted when it's gone. God bless the fans, riders & tracks. Have a great 2024
Remember the night Chris broke the track record at belle vue I was looking at page one in the programme I was reading the race was over by the time I got to page two like a vat out of hell he was that day 😂😂😂
Great rider Chris Morton him and Peter collins best speedway riders ever watched him at Hyde rd very sad they closed the track there it seems what makes you happy they close down 😢😢😢
Chris was the rider that I went to Belle Vue to support as a Kid. My first year supporting speedway was also Chris's first full year in the team. Lots of great memories.
I’ve read his book and thought it was great and covered lots of things I didn’t know about his career. My all time favourite rider with out a shadow of a doubt, went to see him race all over when British Speedway was at its peak and what a gentleman too, I’ll always remember watching one of the best riders that this country has produced.. Thanks PC for the memories loved every minute…👍🙂
One of my lasting race memories of pc was the saturday night meeting can't remember the other team i think that peter's father god bless him had passed away earlier in the week it was a sunny evening the track surface had a different look to it, it just looked as smooth as glass, not being a rider myself i don'tknow how that would change anything , as a rule peter would usually ride his first ride in i think heat 3 there was a change around for some reason and he came out in heat1 the tapes went up he got the gate went straight into the lead and pulled away from the others and maintained nearly half a lap for the whole race obviousley winning, everybody knew they had just witnessed something very special the commentator announced the race time with something like '' and peters time is wait for it a new track record beating ivan mauger's time with 67.9 second's'' the whole place erupted, that was how special peter was, thank's peter for some very great memories
Love PC he is a legend alright my favorite speedway photo pf all time is the 1980 world final when PC went to try to pass Dave Jessup on the outside which let Michael Lee under PC. He could have stayed safe in second but in typical PC style he wound it on to try to win the race and would not settle. The photo is taken from directly behind the three in the middle of the corner it is just fantastic it was in the book about the 1980 season when speedway book 1980 England Ian Thomas and Eric Boocock were the team managers.
Great respects to all the Danish riders. Use to know Ole and Alf and Tommy from Brandon. Eric was always over as Cradley is just up the road, and they rode fixtures differently. Great Memories.
I’m so glad Scott was your 1st guest, 100% Racer & Lovely Guy. That’s why Richard & I (Zero359) have Sponsored him the last 10 years. #SpeedwayFamily 🙌🏼
