That Stranger Tours said on their facebook that the school is supposed to be there through the rest of the year. I assume in case reshoots are needed. I'm in Illinois so I'm hoping to see it before it's gone.
@@lisamarie4048 The building used as Hawkins High School in the Netflix series Stranger Things is being demolished to make way for a new STEM high school. The building has been used for filming and as a rental space for the film industry. Plus, there is many hazard conditions etc I posted a newer video. I just went the other day again 👍🏼

Oh Wow. I watched this as a teenager with my dad when we were out of town visiting one of his friends in N.J. I do not know how I convinced my dad to take me as he could not stand frogs to begin with. But I had a strong interest in reptiles and somehow talked him into it. Well, I was never so disappointed in a movie in my life and thought it was totally bogus. Ah, well -- live and learn.
Thanks for pointing out where Cable Junction was located. I also heard that the lighthouse and where the half eaten killer whale washed up on the beach was located at Fort Pickens just west of Navarre Beach itself. The lighthouse was built just for the movie and taken down soon after.
What a fantastic video! Best one I’ve seen of Hawkins Lab! I’m going to be in Atlanta at the beginning of October and I’m going to try to see as many of the locations as I can. This is the main one I want to see and hopefully be able to go in like you did. I was the one who commented on your Facebook post. So did someone call the cops on you or did an alarm alert them or how did that all work?
@@TheRKHCollection I’m pretty sure a worker called them (they were working inside the one part of the building) but they were cool just told me not to trespass again, just be careful 👍🏼
@@colecusumano3278 yes it is a cool location to do, we have been here a couple of times. I have a couple of videos up of us going here you should check them out we grapple hooked the pool etc in one of our videos but the answer to your question is off the main road it’s about a half an hour hike or so, it can be a rough hike depending on what time of year you go it can be like a jungle for sure it is private property and the last time I went, which was this year, they were starting to build up around the camp some in different area on different properties so if you’re gonna go, I would do it now/soon. But it’s definitely a great day trip 👍🏼
@@EpicPlacesEP I’ve actually watched all of your sleepaway camp 2/3 videos haha That place fascinates me! I’m actually staying an hour away in Hampton for the NASCAR race and I want to drive over so damn bad I’m just afraid I won’t know how to get to the site

@@EpicPlacesEPbro… I keep rewatching to line up the season 2 breach by Demogorgons… to the lobby where Bob gets killed… amazing to see man… you can match up the fire alarm and I think the thermostat on the panels on the lobby walls opposite the entrance.. the columns weren’t there, but the hallways and offices … I can’t wait to visit.. thanks for filling the void… I’m a bit grounded at the moment w a new born lol
@@NickP there is no trespassing, but there is no fence etc It is just open. Also you can definitely walk around the inside of the building at your own expense, but the inside of the Laboratory will be my next video of this location.👍🏼
@@NickP it’s in Atlanta so it’s not the best area the windows are broken in the back of the building so you can just go inside definitely signs of homeless etc

Excellent find. With few hints besides the Atlanta area, I have combed google streetview off & on over the years looking for this exact location. Thank you for making it a reality. I was worried the area had been redeveloped.

@@EpicPlacesEP Yes. I had joined a couple Atlanta, GA groups and even some location scout groups but to no avail. Your video is just in time as they announced just the other day the movie is getting a new 4K scan of the original film negative and finally getting released in blu-ray. Kino Lorber Studio Classics is putting it out.
I would love to visit. I grew up on this movie. I remember renting at blockbuster i loved those kinds of horror demon movies and I fell in love with it ever since ❤
@@lookitzmiikeyy yes I grew up on this movie and part 2 lol rented it from west coast video store all the time! I did the locations for the remake also 👍🏼
@EpicPlacesEP I went last year in October and again this year in May. I had permission to walk through also and was escorted by someone who worked there. I was even able to take 2 friends through who had never been there. I didn't get to look inside the building, though. Maybe next time.
If you're standing in front of the mystic grill, looking at the square. The road to your left, Church St., Is where Dom Deluise and Burt Reynolds land a plane to get beer in Cannonball Run. Also Dukes of Hazzard and the Heat of Night tv show was filmed in that same square.
I’m confused why the school is so run down, they are shooting the final season currently. I guess they didn’t use the school as set for the final season
@@TheJelly007 I’m not sure if they used it or not for the final season. I guess we have to wait for it to come out to find out but at the same time, film crews can easily clean up any little section and then put it back the way it was etc lol
@@mascottie yes I was gonna say basically at the main office. you just have to pay five dollars for parking and make sure nobody else is there for today already
