Anstey Sea Angling started in 2015 by a member posting an advert for a fishing group in the East Midlands. We have 10 in our Group so far. We started mainly beach fishing but soon started to add charter boat fishing trips in the mix. Phil brought a quicksilver 640 in January 2017 and started running trips out of Cardiff most weekends. We then moved the boat to Hartlepool. We fished for 6 months in the Bristol channel and caught 2 cod, we caught a 4.5lb cod first trip out in Hartlepool. In January 2022 when Keith retired he brought a quicksilver 620, so now we have 2 boats to fish from. Being Midlands based allows us access to some great marinas within 2.5hrs of our base. We have also fished from Whitby, Sunderland, Southsea Walton on the Naze and Newcastle in recent years. We have a boat trailer and move around regularly to keep things fresh and interesting. We film our trips and have quite a good laugh doing it. You can contact us via facebook!!
We are at sovereign harbour as well. Ours is opposite bens boat. It’s was out for a bit but now back on her berth. The fishing is superb and you really don’t have to travel far to get on the fish. Especially at this time of the year. Good luck with the move lads hopefully see you on the water
It will be great to have you boys brighten up the place down here mate and the fishing is consistently good all year the only variable is far you have to go at times but through the summer months it’s on your doorstep if you want it! I look forward to catching up with you all soon 🎉

@@Anstey-Sea-Anglers Retuning to Shetland. The good lady & I went once just say we had done it. In following years we attended The Dim on twenty occasions. Also been up in the car.
Not a too bad a day at the end of it, I take my hat off to you guys travelling all the way from Leicester, I have a 45 minute drive which pales into insignificance by comparison, thanks for sharing
@Brian-mb9ez 45 minutes would be lovely. 😆. We would get out a lot more if we were that close. Cheers, yes it's some effort to do the miles before and afterwards. But were used to it now. Looking at Eastbourne next year.
Awww come on guys, there's more to brown water, mackerel and cod. Ex Nuneatoner here now in St Ives, Cornwall. You need to try the crystal clear waters down here! X
To be fair. The water can be crystal clear ( at 20 miles ). Watch the techno film from 11th May 2019. We could see down a long way. But yes St Ives is very tempting.... We already do over 6 hrs travelling to fish so whats another 4... ha ha.
@Anstey-Sea-Anglers we sold our boat to move from Nuneaton to Cornwall. Doesn't quite make sense, but it was the only way. Love your videos . Makes me feel like I'm back out on the water again, and in my happy place fishing x
We tip to make measuring the fish a much easier get your selves a meter length of roof guttering with the block on one end and just mark the lengths in cm with a permanent marker slide the fish in nice and easy ,,cheers lads 👍
We were there the week before you guys shocked at your loss, never known anyone to nick the fish got to be another anglers from one of the other boats. Back there July cant wait.
Well hello, What's the fishing like up there. Were just getting to grips with it currently. Trying to find marks and wrecks that fish. Because we move around to different marinas we haven't got many trips under our belts yet.
Brilliant video , I am out tomorrow from Sunderland in my boat for the first time fishing , is there any thing you aim to go for , or just get out and fish ?
Do you have the navionics app? look for rough ground, Theres tons close in all within 2 miles of the shore. There are wrecks in this ground too. good fish holding features.
@Anstey-Sea-Anglers yes I do , seen a few wrecks close to roker Harbour and the ground looks abit rough to the south of the pier , will try that , thanks for your reply
Well done Keith and crew nice day out, we start getting westerly’s and high pressure but also high gusts! Can’t write it! Hopefully the winds will drop soon and we can hit the wrecks properly, I can’t wait to get back out, if you would like some I can leave a couple of our stickers in the marina office with Frankie for you Keith or even post them for that matter, keep those lines tight and always Fish Onnn 🎣🎣
Yes please to the stickers. Keith will leave some of ours there too. This weather is terrible at the moment. We were due out this Saturday from Newcastle but cancelled it due to high winds.
Yes, you can see why when uptiding at anchor the line gets tangled round rocks and you loose kit. And this ground didn't show that much on the sounder. Some of the ground goes up and down 10ft!!!! In areas.
@@Anstey-Sea-Anglers cheers when you had both boats side by side in the Royal Quays my boat was opposite. The Beneteau called Swordfish next to the black boat with the orange roof.
Not adding salt but its to early in season in one respect but your 40years too late for North sea Cod ...welcome to the scraping of the barrel ladies and gentlemen to empty sea uk..raped ,pillaged mismanaged for years and thats all folks.🤗
@bobbell1700 we have a trip in May coming up. 8 of us for 3 days on our 2 boats. I need to mark out wrecks so were fishing and not messing around on the trip. I have got over 200 named wrecks on my list so its a big job.
Your engine won't last long. Flushing the outboard with the hose connected to the dedicated flushing point the engine MUST be switched off otherwise you will quickly destroy the motor. When using muffs and supply water to the suction points in the lower unit then the engine must be running. Hope it helps.
When I flush my engine I lift the engine out the water turn the engine of and let the water run for 10 minutes my engine is a mariner but I think it’s the same for most engines it looked like your inlets were still in the water so u are still sucking in salt water with the engine of your just flushing out and not sucking anything through
