May I point out that the legal principals originate in British law. That may be why the British agreed with the US. The Common Law prinsiples are shared shared by the UK, Canada, NZ, Australia and the USA, to name just a few
21:47 "He was both the product and the promise of a system of scientific research that was esteemed and enshrined in Germany". It was "a system" that departed from the values commanded by God, and produced Mengele. The same way the Soviets who departed from God, fell into the abys of Chernobyl. And so on..
While living in the Dominican Republic in Santo Domingo I happen to have met some of the descendants of the people in this video. I was very proud that the Dominican government at that time opened the doors while the rest of the world, including the US looked the other way. Nations needed to step up while these people were being exterminated during the Holocaust, but very few did. The Dominican Republic was one of the few that stepped up.
This was a powerful story. The women who spoke can really articulate in the perfect way....I am not gay but I am Jewish and have not had much contact with other Jewish people because I I did not get along with my adopted mother and became a ward of the state at 15 (I am 54 now) So my life experiences and relationships have been without Jewish people.Despite this I am very moved
From Trinidad & Tobago: Eager to learn as much as possible about this dreadful period. Max, your life's experiences are truly touching! Your strength and determination speaks volumes! God bless you as you continue to live a life of satisfaction and and memorable service!
Keep these testimonies for ever.I hope that all these test I monies are in the holocaust museums all over the world. Brenda Landes. Kibbutz Geva. Israel
Poor little boy. How could they ever have done this???? It's NOT a "wonderful world" Louis Armstrong. So sad....doesn't matter how many years this happened. For me time stops when seeing this. Locked in place and it makes me very angry because you bear witness yet you can't reach back in time to rescue him nor can you wring the neck of the bastards killers. Frustrating!
I have tears in my eyes listening to you speak about Lale, i wish i could have met him. I wish i could hug every SURVIVOR❤ I have read every book about this catastrophe. We must NEVER forget, NEVER let the future generations forget. Much Love❤❤
Great discussion - so informative! Indeed, it is very puzzling why this young man's name and deeds have been so long ignored. so much has disappeared from that era, of course - due to the overwhelming horror and magnitude of the crimes - the shock of it all...
I have nightmares but can not stop reading your books. :-( My heart bleeds for all the poor souls that were affected . I cant believe we still have war like the situation on the Ukraine right now :-(
I can’t understand that there is so few wiewers of this very intressting conversation. The topic is very intressting and also the Q&A. /Ulf Bornstein Sweden
I have just received the most brilliant, thorough and unforgettable lesson not only on Auschwitz, as experienced through the eyes of the victims and the nazis, but also on how to read a photograph. I will forever never be able to walk past a photo exhibition, nor any other photo presented to me again. I have watched this video twice already to make sure I understand the message, both of the ability to read a photo and the experience felt by the victims told through the photo of the subjects themselves. I have also started to apply this new skill by already watching other holocaust videos, pausing the video when a picture comes into frame, and spending at least 10 minutes trying to "hear" what the victim is telling me through their presence. Thank you for giving me this wonderful new gift to deepen my understanding of this dark event in the history of the Jewish people. It is a much treasured gift to me, one that I will forever use and never forget how I received. Shalom.
I'm 3rd generation. still have many habits and anxiety. trying to get rid of it and not to pass it on. . thank you for those words, you're healing me in so many levels of life ❤ תודה
this is something i watch so many times. i loved the grandfather. His grand children loved him so.People all over the world should watch this and learn about true love and family values.
Merci beaucoup !
Something about the middle aged, crying woman with the bloodied nose in her undergarments running in terror from pro-Nazi children reduces me to tears even now as an American non Jewish man living in the Midwest. I am broken psychologically by demonic children terrorizing, degrading, beating, torturing, chasing and ultimately murdering an entirely inoffensive, innocent woman, who probably thought they were cute kids before their evil acts against her. Shameful.
Amazing seeing my uncle Leo, to feel as if we're in the same room, hearing a story (my family's escape drama) one I've heard many times and still learning more about it.
